Newport Rhode Island Hotels

The Newport hotels present visitors with an array of lodging options to choose from, which makes finding your ideal accommodations a breeze. Cheap Newport lodging is harder to come by than upscale Newport lodging, but that doesn't mean that you can't find a relatively cheap place to stay for a night or more. The Newport motels, which are few in number, offer the lowest rates in town, especially in the off season. The peak travel season for Newport, and for Rhode Island in general, is mid-May to mid-October, and that's when the rates at the Newport hotels increase significantly on the whole. Visit outside of the peak travel season, and you'll find cheap Newport lodging much more available. Whenever you decide to visit Newport, you should find the following hotels to be among the best overall lodging options, so you might consider them when booking your stay.
When it's luxury hotels in Rhode Island that you are interested in, you can hardly do better than the Castle Hill Inn and Resort. This renowned retreat, which can be found in a relatively secluded area at the western terminus of Ocean Drive, offers an array of upscale guest units to choose from, including the Turret Suite, which offers 360-degree views of Narragansett Bay. For those who want to be close to the water, the beach house rooms are situated on the hotel's private stretch of sand. Beach cottages are available as well should you prefer your own isolated unit, and there are other various room configurations here that are enticing as well. All of the guest units at the Castle Hill Inn and Resort are tastefully-decorated, well-outfitted, and elegant. Upscale furnishings are found throughout, and premium bedding helps to ensure a good night's sleep. The amenities vary from unit to unit, but you can expect things like cable TV, a DVD player, a whirlpool bathtub, and a hair dryer to be standard. Some of the guest units here boast a kitchen, a fireplace, and/or a private deck, so you can choose accordingly. Outside of the rooms, the Castle Hill Inn and Resort offers spacious grounds for relaxing, and when you get hungry, the hotel's restaurant is a divine place to enjoy a meal. In the morning, all guests are welcome to indulge in the complimentary breakfast buffet.
Staying at one of the Waterfront Newport hotels is what many visitors will be after, as this historic district by the harbor is where a lot of the action is. The top Newport festivals take place at the Waterfront, and there are numerous shops and restaurants that you can check out while enjoying the area. The Mill Street Inn is just one block from the harbor, and it offers fresh and modern suites that are both spacious and well-priced. While not exactly a candidate for cheap Newport lodging, the Mill Street Inn features rates that are relatively moderate, and you can hardly top the location. All of the suites here were recently renovated, and they are all clean, comfortable, and keen on amenities. Guest bathrobes, a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, voice mail, free wireless internet access, an alarm clock radio, and cable TV are among the standard amenities. In addition to free internet access, you will also be treated to a complimentary continental breakfast and access to a health club, which helps to make the friendly rates even more agreeable. A rooftop deck is available for guest use, and it is where breakfast is served on warmer days.
When looking for your ideal Newport accommodations, it's always a good idea to check out the local bed and breakfast inns. There are a bunch of excellent bed and breakfast Newport hotels spread about the city, and the Attwater Villa is one of the best. The Attwater Villa boasts a great location just off of Bellevue Avenue, and Cliff Walk and mansions like the Breakers are not far off. Walking to most of the top Newport attractions is possible when staying here, which is part of the hotel's appeal. You can choose from a few different room types when staying here, including the more economical Guest Quarters. Standard amenities in each guest unit include data ports, a telephone, a private bathroom, heat, air conditioning, and cable TV. Some of the guest rooms are more elegant than others, and if you want added space, you can always book the apartment unit at the adjacent cottage. It boasts a private kitchen, among other things. A complimentary continental breakfast is included in the fair rates here, and you will be able to walk to a number of restaurants for lunch and dinner.
As mentioned in the opening paragraph, the Newport motels are the way to go if you are tight on funds or simply prefer to save on lodging rates. When looking for good Newport motels, the Middletown area is a good place to find them. Middletown is just a couple of miles north of downtown Newport, so it's hardly far away. Should you prefer cheap Newport lodging that is a little closer to downtown Newport, the Motel 6 Newport is always worth considering. You can find the Motel 6 Newport just north of the downtown area near the Naval Education and Training Center. While the rooms at the Motel 6 are low on frills, they are clean, comfortable, and dependable. You can enjoy internet access in your room for a small fee, though you won't have to pay extra for coffee, expanded cable, and any and all local calls. You can always pay more to stay at one of the more fancy Newport hotels, but if you just want a good place to rest your head at night, you can hardly go wrong with the Motel 6 Newport.
