Myrtle Beach is a town on the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina, east of Charleston and north of Georgetown. Myrtle Beach has grown into a major tourist destination and features some of the best golf courses in the world, as well as wide stretches of open beach frequented by the public all summer long. Myrtle Beach golf packages are widely available at the many resorts found all through Myrtle Beach, and there are also some great deals on Myrtle Beach vacations through condos and rental houses.

Myrtle Beach golf packages can be found through most of the major resorts in Myrtle Beach, including the Dunes and the Hilton Myrtle Beach resort. To find Myrtle Beach golf packages, travelers can contact their preferred Myrtle Beach hotel directly, or try putting together a package through a travel agency. Golf packages for Myrtle Beach vacations are available throughout the year, as the golfing season doesn’t end in Myrtle Beach. Summer and spring, however, are the busiest times for Myrtle Beach vacations and for golfing, so prices on resorts and some green fees will be most expensive between May and September.

Along with golfing, Myrtle Beach vacations are popular because of the great beaches found in Myrtle Beach. Once you find the beach, there are a number of ways to enjoy the water and sand. Fishing is a particularly popular choice, and folks who love to fish will enjoy the advantage of fishing directly off of piers. Short boat rides will also take travelers to some excellent fishing locals. Boating in general is also popular here, and for travelers from out of town who many not have their own boats, boat rental is available (starting at around $300 for the day).

If you want to head to one of the most popular beaches in Myrtle Beach, head a short distance south of town to Myrtle Beach State Park. Here, travelers will find over 300 acres of beach and trees, and admission is just $3. This is also a favorite place to camp, as the state park features more than 300 campsites. If you simply want to hang out for the day, grab a picnic lunch (there are picnic tables, showers and toilets available) and head for the park. Hours are from 6am until 10pm.

Myrtle Beach has gained a reputation as a major family destination not only for the great beaches and endless golfing and swimming, but also because the town of Myrtle Beach itself has a number of great family restaurants and attractions. The Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park on Ocean Boulevard is a popular hangout in town and the center of the tourist action. Rides, games and lots of food are all widely available at the amusement park, which is open during most of the year. Both boutique and outlet shopping are also available in town all year long, and draw many families looking for bargains or just a memento to take home from vacation. Many of the more popular Myrtle Beach hotels are found close to the shopping center and center of town.
