Nashville Mansions

Nashville mansions are fascinating historical sites, and one of the most interesting things to do in Nashville is visit one of these and take a tour. Many of Nashville's famous period homes are now museums that can give visitors a glimpse into the elegance of the past, such as Nashville Belmont Mansion, one of the largest house museums in the area, and the Victorian-style Ambrose House. The Belle Meade Mansion is another popular destination. Visitors can stroll around these beautiful estates on a Nashville mansion tour, and many of them are available for weddings, receptions, and other events.

Belmont Mansion

The Nashville Belmont Mansion is a beautifully restored nineteenth-century home, with an elaborate Grand Salon and lovely white columns. It was built by Adelicia Hayes Franklin Acklen Cheatham, a wealthy widow who inherited her husband's estate, and after his death, managed his plantations and built the opulent Nashville Belmont Mansion. After her death in the late 1880s, a girls' academy was opened in the house, which subsequently developed into today's Belmont University. Belmont Mansion was also a crucial headquarters during the Civil War at the Battle of Nashville.

Ambrose House

Ambrose House is a Victorian home set in a historic neighborhood in East Nashville, where restaurants, cafés, and Victorian architecture all unite to bring you back to an earlier time. Although it was once split up into several apartments, Ambrose House has since been restored to its original grandeur, with a few modernizations—the first floor has been reconstructed in an open-concept format, providing a Grand Hall suitable for receptions and events.

Two Rivers Mansion

This Italian-style home was built by David McGavock in 1859. It features marble Roman columns and frescoes on the walls. Two Rivers Mansion is also one of the most popular Nashville mansions for weddings. Two major events take place at the mansion: a Christmas celebration and a festival celebrating the dulcimer in May.

Riverwood Mansion

Riverwood Mansion is one of the oldest Nashville mansions, built in 1790, and it’s also one of the largest, covering 9,200 square feet. It is a white building with white Greek Revival columns set on an eight-acre estate. This historic house is often used for events in Nashville, including weddings and corporate retreats.

Bowen Plantation House

This red brick home built in the federal style around 1790 is one of the earliest surviving examples of brick architecture near Nashville; it’s in the nearby town of Goodlettsville. While not as ornate as some of the other mansions, the Bowen Plantation House shows the lifestyle of early settlers in the area, and it's a great place to visit if you're interested in the history of Nashville.

Cedarwood Mansion

This grand antebellum house dating from the 1830s is located just a few minutes from downtown Nashville, set on a lovely farm with a country feel. The main house has been lovingly restored, with chandeliers, grand fireplaces, and other features that evoke a luxurious Southern style. It’s another very popular wedding venue.

Hundred Oaks Castle

One of thirteen historic castles in the United States, Hundred Oaks Castle is a grand sight. Located in Winchester Tennessee, the castle was modeled after medieval castles in Europe. It has twelve bedrooms and is made of brick and stone. Tours are available upon request, and it’s a unique site to visit among the more traditional Southern structures in and around Nashville.

Spring Haven Mansion

This white mansion is a six-room plantation home built around 1825 by Dr. John P. Wagnon, President Andrew Jackson's doctor and friend. The imposing white house is a beautiful sight, with white columns in the front and a restored interior. The beautiful lawn and wooded grounds are another favorite setting for weddings and receptions.
