Smoky Mountains Hotels

Smoky Mountains hotels are primarily found outside of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park boundaries. In fact, there is only one hotel to speak of within the park’s boundaries. It is the rather basic LeConte Lodge, which rests just below the summit of Mount LeConte and can only be reached by way of hiking. Situated at an elevation of approximately 6,400 feet above sea level, this is actually the highest guest lodge in the eastern United States. Quiet simplicity is the name of the game at the LeConte Lodge, and the hand built log cabins, while simple, feature propane heat, kerosene lanterns, clean linens, and wool blankets. Meals are served family-style in the communal dining room. Camping is the only other lodging option within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park boundaries.
Smoky Mountains Hotels With Water Park

While Great Smoky Mountains National Park itself doesn’t boast much in the way of manmade sleeping structures, there are many hotels close by and throughout the Smoky Mountains region in general. The area is a popular family destination, and many families have hopes of booking a stay at one of the Smoky Mountains hotels with a water park. Examples of such hotels include the Wilderness at the Smokies and the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort. You can find Wilderness at the Smokies in Sevierville, Tennessee. Smoky Mountains Hotels With Indoor Pools

For some Smoky Mountains visitors, a hotel with an indoor pool is satisfying enough. The advantage to an indoor pool versus an outdoor pool is that it can be enjoyed year round. There are numerous Smoky Mountains hotels with indoor pools, so regional visitors should have little trouble finding something that suits their desires. In the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area alone, the choices are abundant. Once again, the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort is among the options. Complementing this are a number of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area chain brand hotels, such as the Comfort Inn & Suites at Dollywood Lane, the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pigeon Forge (pictured), and the Sleep Inn & Suites Gatlinburg.
Regional visitors who are searching for Smoky Mountains hotels with or without water parks or indoor pools can also consider the options on the North Carolina side. The tourist-oriented destination of Cherokee is arguably the best place to begin such searches. You can find Cherokee at the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway and at the entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The most notable lodging establishment in Cherokee, NC is the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort. Among other things, it boasts an indoor pool.
