Tennessee is a state where guests will no doubt experience the attentive hospitality that seems to be synonymous with the south. Many holiday-goers plan trips surrounding exciting Tennessee attractions found scattered around the state. Driving between major cities in order get the most from Tennessee attractions is a great way to see some of the significant areas, byway scenery and sites that have made Tennessee history as significant as it remains today.


Graceland


 Memphis is home to a wealth of Tennessee attractions such as the infamous Graceland estate, once home to Elvis Presley who recorded many well-known songs at Sun Studio. Tours of graceland run daily and a tour of the home is a great way to get some insight into Elvis’s life. The home boast themed  rooms including the famous “jungle room” and a meditation garden where Elvis and his family’s graves lie.


Memphis in May


Memphis is May is one of the most famous and fun attractions in Tennessee. Running for the entire month of May this festival includes music concerts at Tom Lee Park near historical Beale Street and the World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest where festival-goers can taste the prized cook-offs goods. The revered Sunset Symphony brings a n exciting close to the festival.


Lookout Mountain


A drive southwest will take tourists to historical and picturesque Chattanooga. While in Chattanooga take in the gorgeous surrounding backdrop from Lookout Mountain. Lookout Mountain provides some of the most spectacular views of all the attractions in Tennessee. The city is also home to some fantastic museums and galleries that serve as excellent day trips. While at the mountain don’t forget to visit the natural wonder of Ruby Falls.


National Civil Rights Museum


The National Civil Rights Museum gives visitors an overview of the civil rights movement in Tennessee. The museum is located inside the Lorraine Motel, the site of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.  The civil rights time line notes the struggles of the movement and concentrates on the influential events of the 1950's and 1960's. this is one of the most important attractions in Tennessee to date.


CMA Music Festival


The many attractions Tennessee offers is spellbinding! Downtown Nashville is host to the CMA Music Festival which happens every year in June. This exciting event delivers a full variety of concerts happening both during the day and the evening as well. The event includes the signing of autograph at Fan Fair, a Family Zone, Fun Zone and live entertainment in downtown clubs.


Great Smoky Mountains National Park


Of all the attractions Tennessee delivers the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the biggest of natural attractions in Tennessee. Endless forests, a vast diversity of flora and fauna, beautiful ancient mountains and a legacy of Southern Appalachian culture make this renowned area a favorite for cabin rentals. Outdoor activities abound here such as hiking and camping and the park borders on Pigeon Forge and surrounds it in natural beauty.


Dollywood


Dollywood is the Great Smoky Mountain’s family fun holiday adventure and includes great live shows all day, exciting roller coaster rides, many children’s rides and festivals. Spanning 125 acres and nestled into the lush foothills of the mountains this attraction Tennessee proffers is a family favorite.


Brooks Museum of Art


The Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis comprises the largest fine art’s collection in Tennessee dating from antiquity to present-day. Local art and visiting exhibitions from all over the world grace the walls of the museum.
