Austin, Texas hasn’t always been the metropolis that it is today. The first residents were nomadic tribes that included Tonkawas, Comanches and Lipan Apaches. In the 1830s Spanish explorers set a village there known as Waterloo. And in 1839, Waterloo was chosen to be the capital of the new Republic of Texas. However, a new city was built named after Stephen F. Austin. He was the father of Texas. And Judge Edwin Waller was the first mayor of Austin. He created the street system in Austin, so you can either praise him or blame him for all your traffic woes.

Austin is the Texas State capitol and enjoys sunshine year-round at a pleasant average of 68 degrees year-round. It is home to many Grammy Award winning musicians such as Willie Nelson and is looking for more. Any Austin Texas travel needs to go to Sixth Street.
