Dallas Airports

Dallas airports see millions of visitors every year, and there are plenty of reasons to fly to this Southwest city. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is served by two airports, and one of them figures among the busiest airports in the world. Tens of millions of passengers pass through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport every year, its seven non-intersecting runways able to handle a large number of flights. Love Field Airport is the other airport that Dallas area visitors can use, and while it handles some commercial flights, it is better suited for private planes and charter flights.

While passing through the Dallas Fort Worth Airport, travelers will have a complete array of facilities to choose from. These facilities and amenities include an impressive number of specialty shops, more than 100 food and beverage operations, a small spa that specializes in massages, and a barber shop. It's possible to buy anything from a cell phone to a sleeve of golf balls at Dallas's busiest airport, and the two-story duty-free store can come in handy when you find yourself waiting for a flight.

When travelers aren't shopping at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport, they can take advantage of the numerous onsite eateries. The fast food restaurants can be ideal when time is of the essence, while the sit-down restaurants that specialize in Asian, Italian, Mexican, and American cuisine are better suited for hungry travelers that have some time to spare. For a true taste of Texas, visiting one of the barbecue restaurants at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport is worth considering. As for travelers who are arriving on a flight, heading to the tourist information center to get some information on all the great area hotels and attractions can be a good idea.

At Love Field Airport, the facilities and amenities are fewer in number. That being said, those who are passing through will find a relatively healthy array of shops and restaurants to choose from. The restaurants range from fast-food eateries to casual sit-down restaurants, and as is true at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport, it won't be hard to get a cup of coffee and a pastry if that's all you're after. Over time, the Love Field Airport will become more complete, as a number projects and planned projects are in the works.

Both of the Dallas airports can be pleasant places to spend some time whether you are just passing through or visiting the area, and for those who are in a rush to get to their hotel or vacation rental, ample transportation options are at hand from rental cars to airport shuttles. Both of the Dallas airports are close to Dallas proper, and they are also close to all the other fantastic cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. These cities include Fort Worth, Grapevine, Irving, Arlington, and Addison.

For travelers who need a place to stay once they arrive at the Dallas airports, there are many attractive airport hotels to choose from. The majority of the area's airport hotels offer free airport transfers for their guests. They also offers some of the most affordable rates around, and thanks to their central locations, they can make excellent North Texas travel bases.
