Dallas Restaurants

Dallas restaurants are very diverse and it is possible to sample virtually any kind of cuisine on a stop in this metropolitan area. Keeping true to its dining roots, Dallas maintains a varied collection of Mexican, Tex-Mex, and steakhouse restaurants, and for those who like barbecue, there many be no finer place to be. Many restaurants tend to experiment with a number of cuisines, usually offering a modern fusion of fares. When it comes to food, what you can't find in Dallas you are likely to locate in one of the nearby cities. Addison, for example, is full of restaurants that cater to a number of tastes.

Between the Downtown Dallas restaurants and those that are found in Uptown, visitors will have more dining choices than they will likely know what to do with. Many of the best restaurants between the Downtown and Uptown districts can be found at upscale hotels, and these restaurants often feature forward-thinking chefs that are keen on pushing the dining envelope. In addition to cutting-edge eateries that like to experiment with ingredients, the Downtown Dallas restaurants include a number of steakhouses where meat lovers can get their fill of USDA prime cuts. It's worth noting that the bulk of the Dallas area steakhouses also offer pork and seafood dishes and sometimes even vegetarian options here and there.

As far as the Downtown Dallas restaurants are concerned, most are found in the heart of the downtown corridor or due west in the West End and Reunion districts. The West End and Reunion restaurants are especially popular with tourists, and it's not uncommon to see business people dining with clients on this side of town. One of the most popular Dallas restaurants in the downtown area is the one that is found at the top of the Reunion Tower. This restaurant rotates slowly, allowing diners a 360-degree, bird's-eye view of the Dallas area. Over in the heart of town, the restaurants tend to be pricier on the whole, and they can be ideal for a Dallas fine dining experience. In Uptown, there are more chic and trendy dining establishments to choose from, not to mention some of the most exclusive shops in the area. The sleek Victory Park area is just one of the dining hot spots in the Uptown District, and there are also plenty of places to eat along Uptown's McKinney Avenue.

Whether you're looking for romantic restaurants in Dallas or something less intimate, another area that is not to be overlooked is the strip of Greenville Avenue on the city's northeast side. An excellent destination for both dining and nightlife, Greenville Avenue is full of restaurants, and many have a bohemian atmosphere. A meal along Greenville Avenue might be ideal after spending some time at Downtown Dallas attractions such as the Nasher Sculpture Museum and the Dallas Museum of Art. With its mix of restaurants, bars, and shops, Greenville Avenue caters to all kinds, whereas Uptown is more of a highbrow hangout. Heading north of Uptown, the suburbs are also of an exclusive sort, as are the restaurants. Highland Park, for example, is one of the best locales for fine dining in Dallas.

Rewarding dining experiences are to be had across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and dining enthusiasts can explore the options. When you aren't dining at one of the Dallas restaurants, a side trip to Grapevine can see you pairing one of the local wines with your meal, and many tourists make it a point to venture over to Fort Worth at some point to eat some barbecue in the Stockyards National Historic District. Fort Worth is especially known for its Texas-style cuisine, and this definitely includes barbecue.

Some of the Dallas vacation packages feature dining privileges that travelers can take advantage of. Couples, for example, can often get a meal for two at one of the more romantic restaurants in Dallas when booking a wedding, honeymoon, or other kind of romance package. For sports fans, a Dallas Cowboys package that includes a private dinner and an autograph signing session with players might be of special interest. Between the romantic restaurants in Dallas and the more special dining experiences, things can get pricey, in which case a good dining deal can come in handy.
