Grapefest 2016 is the place to try out award winning Texas wines and enjoy special events featured by the Southwest’s biggest wine festival. This Texas fete is one of the best summer festivals for wine connoisseurs and amateur wine-lovers alike. Never fear, if you don’t like wine, be sure to check out the Draft Beer Pavilion where plenty of special craft brews are available. With several pre-fest special events, like a golf and tennis tournament, Grapefest offers lots of fun and some flexible activity dates so all can enjoy.

Grapefest History and Facts

Grapevine is a suburb of Fort Worth and Dallas Texas, and with incredibly fertile land, the entire area has traditionally been an ideal setting for crops. In more recent times, the area has become ripe with vineyards and some of the best grape varieties in the United States, particularly the area’s famous wild mustang grape.

Grapefest in Grapevine Texas is a four-day event held along Main Street, a historic city center. Live music, Draft Beer Pavilion, a carnival midway, tours of the Grapevine Tasting Rooms, a Tennis and Golf Classic, culinary pavilion, Champagne Cork Shoot-Off, six entertainment stages, and the celebrated Grape Stomp are what’s in store. Ticket holders can sample more than 135 different wines put forth by more than 30 Texas wineries from around the state.

Tickets to Grapefest in Grapevine Texas

GrapeFest often opens a bit early and lets visitors in for free for a set amount of time. This Dallas event takes place in September. There are discounts for seniors over 62 and children, and general admission for everyone else is reasonable. Weekend passes are available for a bit extra if you want to come back more than once, and a souvenir weekend pass is available as well if you want some extra perks. Admission is free for children five and under. Tickets are available in person at the Palace Theater box inside the Grapevine Opry Ticket Office in Grapevine at 300 S. Main Street at the corner of Texas and Main.

Directions to Grapefest

From Dallas, Texas Grapevine is a half-hour drive. Follow I-35 E toward Denton where you’ll continue until merging onto TX-366 Spur W. Follow the road until Denton and at TX-183 W take a slight left then another slight right at TX-114 W toward TX-26 and continue toward the Texas 114 Business/Texan Trail. Take a left at Dallas Road East, a right at Dooley Street South, and finally a left onto Hudgins Street East where there are signs for Grapefest in Grapevine Texas.

Grapefest offers vacation packages and special rates on certain Texas hotels in partnership with the festival. These hotels include Embassy Suites Dallas, Comfort Suites DFW North/Grapevine, Hilton Garden Inn DFW North Grapevine, and the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center. There are about a half-dozen more hotels available for visitors that offer special pricing during Grapefest.
