Houston Texas

Houston, Texas is true to the pride of Texas. It is the largest city in Texas, and the fourth largest in the nation. A Houston vacation provides you with intriguing museums, enormous shopping malls, water parks, sporting facilities with the Houston Texans and space travel. And after all is said and done, one of the biggest attractions in Texas is their barbecue steak houses.

Two real estate brokers at the headwaters of Buffalo Bayou founded Houston in 1836. The first president of the new Republic of Texas was Sam Houston. Once Houston was accepted in the union, he still remained in power but as a senator. Texas was the twenty-eighth state in the union.

To shop on a Houston vacation is almost a journey in itself. Their shopping malls are a testament to how the big reputation of Texas began. The Galleria is a huge shopping center made up for 4 floors. The ground level even has an ice skating rink. Imagine ice-skating in Houston. One of the many shopping attractions in Houston is Katy mills. This is the principal outlet in Houston that has roughly 200 outlet stores in a single mall. Remember to bring good shoes for this journey, and a truckload of storage space. If you can still squeeze a few more pennies from your credit cards, then try Commercial Chinatown. Here you can browse through these import stores from Asia that sell interesting furniture, cheap food and other goods.

One of the attractions in Houston you do not want to miss is the Space Center. This is the most popular attraction in Houston. It is a combination of efforts from NASA and Disney Imagineering that make it so popular for kids and adults. That’s right the adults will be grinning with glee. Learn about the details of space exploration, and afterwards enjoy the largest IMAX Theater in Texas.

Besides the space center, there are plenty of other museums to sink your teeth into. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is a great place to roam through the intricacies of science, as we know it. There's also the Children’s Museum to provide entertainment for even the most active children. Afterwards enjoy a day at the Houston Zoo. It has been giving tourists and locals the chance to experience exotic animals since 1922.

Once your minds are full of soaking in knowledge, then enhance your smile at Six Flags Astroworld. This will jump start your Houston vacation fun again. It has 75 acres of high-tech roller coasters, performance venues and theme areas. While you are there, the Looney Tunes characters will keep you company. Let us not forget the sports teams. The astrodome is one of the most visited stadiums in Texas. It will provide a comfortable seat, a hot dog and America’s pastime. The Houston Texans were an instant favorite in Texas. Once you get your teeth into a football team, you don’t let go.

And just before your Houston vacation is almost over take some time to relax and reminisce. The Water Wall is an open romantic park to take your shoes off and feel the cool green grass on the arches of your feet. Close your eyes and enjoy your memories of Houston again and again. The space center will loom in your mind, the excitement of roller coasters and then the raw emotion of the Houston Texans game.
