Houston Vacation Rentals

Houston vacation rental options are so diverse it’s easy to arrange the perfect getaway in several choice areas in and near Houston. Houston vacation homes come in many shapes and sizes, from small apartments to mid-sized homes and many large, upscale properties. Depending on what kind of Houston rental homes you’re looking for, what kind of attractions you prefer to be nearby, and which activities you’re most interested in, there could be the perfect rental waiting.

For close to the same price as two nights in mid-range hotels in Houston, a family can enjoy a multi-bedroom Houston vacation rental complete with modern amenities, tons of outdoor space, and a great location. This can be an ideal option for larger group traveling together, as many multi-bedroom homes advertise a large occupancy upwards of fifteen guests. Some Houston vacation homes in the same price range include upscale amenities such as gourmet kitchens, Jacuzzi tubs, private en-suite bathrooms, and plenty of entertainment options. With a close proximity to shopping, dining, cruises from the marina, and easy access to prime attractions and you’ve got an incredible vacations in Houston.

Houston vacation homes also come in a more modest price bracket and can certainly undercut many hotel rates. There is the possibility of needing rental cars to get around if the property isn’t within walking distance to main points of interest but that’s a small price to pay considering car rentals are relatively inexpensive. Anyone who doesn’t need over-the-top interiors, but enjoys comfort and convenience will find a host of Houston rental homes to consider. They won’t necessarily be in the heart of the city, but often offer good access to area attractions.

There are several appealing lake areas featuring great Houston vacation homes and many things to do outdoors. Lake Conroe in the Conroe area is just one example of a retreat outside of downtown Houston. Each property generally has two or three (maximum) rate schedules. These rate brackets pertain to low, medium, and high tourist seasons. By the lake, the highest pricing will generally be during the summer months when temperatures are hot and lakeside locations are most popular. Spring and Fall are next in line, with some attesting these are the best times to visit. Winter is low season, though still an ideal time to visit depending on what attractions you’re after.

A Houston vacation rental in or around the Baytown area affords great access to the waterfront and also to the Galveston area where there are beaches and outdoor activities to enjoy. Just looking at a map of Houston and the surrounding area makes it clear there are several prime waterfront locations perfect for vacations, from Galveston Bay to Kemah. From these areas visitors can enjoy a great mix of urban fun with some relaxing water-based play.

Renting outside of Houston proper keeps the prices down but some thought and research should be put into the final location. Being too far away from attractions like the theater district, the Houston Aquarium, and all the best museums can be a drag if you spend more time traveling than discovering, so be sure to choose wisely. Aim to meet your budget expectations but also consider other ways to save like vacation packages, multiple-day or week discounts, and discount tickets. What’s key when looking for a Houston vacation rental is balance and the ability to compromise. With that down pat, finding an ideal rental is a completely accessible goal.
