Texas Music

Texas takes great pride in the music they have produced over the years. They have created superstars from the Dixie Chicks to Willie Nelson, and the competition is intense in Austin, Texas to be another star. Austin Texas music has become a music Mecca, and anyone with an interest in live music should start looking at real estate.

Austin is the Texas State capital and is the heart of Texas Music. It enjoys over 300 days of sunshine and a full year of musical notes and lyrics. It is home to many Grammy Award winning musicians including The Dixie Chicks, Shawn Colvin, Willie Nelson and the late Stevie Ray Vaughn. A good place to see some live music is at the Warehouse District. It is as if live music was born here, and it is still thriving. It's not going anywhere.

Austin music heritage can be traced back to the early part of the 19th century. By the 1920’s Austin clubs such as the Cotton Club were blossoming. Jazz was the modern sound of the day, and Austin was its home. Some famous musicians include Duke Ellington and Count Basie. By the 30s, Jazz clubs were lining the streets, and also big band artists were on the rise. As the 60s began to set in, the drive to listen to jazz was waning. Blues was the thing of the day. It wasn't until the 70s when country stepped foot in the Austin scene. And from there Texas country blues was born.

Another famous place to visit is Austin City Limits. They have professional talent in and out of Austin City Limit constantly. They have had artists ranging from Willie Nelson to Sheryl Crow. It began in 1976 and continues to showcase musical and songwriting talent. The Austin City Limits is an intimate setting, but you leave the concert feeling a bond with the musician. The heart of Texas music will do that to you. They have all types of different genres to experience such as country, blues, folk, rock and roll and bluegrass. Anyone who can play an instrument or likes music is invited here. They have had thousands of concerts with such big names as B.B King, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ray Charles and Leonard Cohen. Once you get inside Austin City Limits you don't want to leave.

Austin Texas music is all music lovers. You will find small and large venues; loud to soft music and tunes you have never heard of. It is a very welcoming place, and the walls of many of the bars rattle with vibration. Once the heart of Austin Texas music gets in your blood stream it is addicting. It's difficult to get over, but music is a healthy ingredient for your soul.

Austin music is a powerhouse and you need to tune in, take notes, and buy tickets and groove to what it has to offer, because it could be the next big thing.
