North Beach

The views along North Beach (formerly known as Corpus Christi Beach) are impressive. A long stretch of tan sand, azure blue water, and vibrant green foliage bordering it all create an aesthetic perfect for fun and relaxing Texas vacations. The beach in Corpus Christi is definitely the focal point of all things exciting and opens up a host of opportunities for adventure. North Beach hotels are only minutes from recreation and a wealth of tourist amenities and attractions. Deep seeded history is illustrated in many aspects of Corpus Christi Beach, especially throughout the downtown.

Tradition notes the city was first discovered on Catholic Feast Day of Corpus Christi in the early 1500s, though historical records indicate city roots date back to the early 1800s. There are many historical attractions and landmarks perfect for learning more about the city's past. The Seaman's Center, Old Nueces County Courthouse, and Heritage Park all tell their own tale about the foundations of North Beach. A large number of historic homes are another way to get a feel for the city's early architectural styles and different districts like Old Irishtown and Heritage Park. Other great examples citing different eras of history are Old Bayview Cemetery, the Lexington Museum, and Artesian Park.

The many things to do on and around the beach in Corpus Christi make staying for a night or two worth some serious consideration. North Beach rentals are some of the most valued accommodation options in Texas because of the entertainment, recreation, and nightlife here. Expansive Texas beaches, swimming, boating, and great Texas fishing are only some of the possible activities. A large number of Corpus Christi rentals are located along the Corpus Christi Bayfront and are less than twenty minutes from nearby attractions such as Mustang Island, Port Aransas, and North Padre. Gambling boats, great shopping, excellent dining, and many more beaches offer much more to see and do.

North Beach rentals range from sprawling private homes to condos to seaside cottages. There are also plenty of Texas beach hotels and resorts to choose from. Furnished apartments are yet another option when looking for lodging. The closer you stay to main attractions, the more expensive a rental will be. There are ample choices in North Beach rentals only a short drive from major sights which are more affordable for a more limited budget. From about June through September, vacation rentals tend to be more expensive as this is the peak season for tourists. Be sure to keep and eye out for Texas vacation deals as they are certainly available.

When looking for a beach in Corpus Christi, or nearby, visitors are spoiled for choice. Mustang Island Beach, South Packery Jetty Beach, Packery Channel, and Upper Padre Island Seawall are all nearby and ideal for surfing, fishing, boating, and offshore activities. Whitecap Beach, McGee Beach, and beautiful Padre Island National Seashore add to the list of choices creating an appealing variety of beaches to explore. There are also many nature sights to visit. The Texas State Aquarium, Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge, Hazel Bazemore Park, and Goose Island State Park are just a few of the numerous options. From replete Victorian charm to exciting activities along the Gulf of Mexico, there isn't any question why North Beach is the second most popular of all vacation spots in Texas.
