AT&T Center San Antonio

AT&T Center San Antonio is a dazzling, multipurpose venue that primarily serves as the home of the city's professional men's basketball team. The San Antonio Spurs, as this team is known, is among the most successful teams in NBA history, and as you might imagine, they have a loyal following because of it. The Spurs, along with the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage hockey team, moved into the AT&T Center in 2002, and one year later, the WNBA's San Antonio Silver Stars followed suit. Between these three teams, sports fans have numerous opportunities to catch an exciting event while in the Alamo City. Sporting events aren't the only events that are held at the venue, however, so any and all visitors on San Antonio vacations can check out the schedule when planning a trip.

The AT&T Center San Antonio opened in 2002, and in many ways, its creation was the result of the fact that both the Spurs and their fans had grown tired of the former venue, the Alamodome. The former venue had poor sight lines for fans, and the relatively cavernous nature of the venue didn't make for the best playing experience. The AT&T Center remedied both of these issues and then some. A state-of-the-art masterpiece, this venue features plenty to keep visitors entertained when they're not watching the action. It also has some enticing seating options to choose from. These seating options include 50 luxury suites and more than 2,000 club suites. The suites come with some extra perks, such as added privacy and special food and beverage service. Each and every seat offers great views, and an ample amount of food vendors are in good supply for all visitors to take advantage of. There are also two restaurants to choose from if you wish to add a more complete dining experience to your night out at the AT&T Center San Antonio.

The number of seats that are available at the AT&T Center San Antonio depends on the event. For a San Antonio Spurs game or a Silver Stars game, for example, the seating capacity is just over 18,500. When the San Antonio Rampage play their home games, on the other hand, 13,800 seats are available, and the total goes up to 19,000 for concerts. Some big ticket concerts have been held at the venue, with past headliners including the Rolling Stones, Cher, and Aerosmith. As for other AT&T Center San Antonio events that might pique your interest, they include the popular San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, various religious gatherings, and a number of local community events. It is also possible to catch an autocross competition in the parking lot if you time your visit accordingly. The San Antonio Rodeo takes place in February, and the autocross events are generally held on a monthly basis.

The San Antonio Spurs are the most popular sports team in town, especially since the team has won multiple championships. While tickets to see them can get pricey, there are usually some good deals to be had, especially if you don't mind sitting in the nosebleed sections. As for the San Antonio Spurs schedule, the regular season gets under way in October and lasts through May. The San Antonio Rampage also begin their season in October, while the San Antonio Silver Stars don't get going until May.

If you can't manage to plan your AT&T Center San Antonio visit around a specific event and you want to get a look at the interior, you can always consider booking a tour. Guided walking tours of the venue are offered on non-event days, and they allow visitors to get a behind-the-scenes look at things. Stops include the fun H-E-B Fan Zone area, which is interactive in nature and covers 50,000 square feet. It is worth noting that specialty food and drinks are on hand in the H-E-B Fan Zone, and the more than 50 flat-screen TVs mean you won't have trouble monitoring the game.
