Dawn Brancheau wanted to be a SeaWorld trainer since her first visit to the park as a child. By age 40, she was the park’s most experienced trainer and had formed a joyful bond with the great orcas, which she loved like they were her children. That bond was tragically broken when she was killed in 2010 by Tilikum, the largest of the orcas, in an incident still not completely understood.
