Fiesta Texas San Antonio

Fiesta Texas San Antonio, or Six Flags Fiesta Texas, as it is officially known, is a large theme park that can be found near one of the Southwest's best cities. Originally opened as Fiesta Texas, the park first welcomed visitors in 1992. In 1996, Time Warner assumed ownership, and the renowned Six Flags name was added. Ever since Time Warner took over, the park has grown considerably, and today, it covers some 200 acres near the conjunction of Interstate 10 and Loop 1604. New rides are added to the landscape with relative regularity, so if you haven't been back in a while, a visit might be in order. For new visitors, the ride and entertainment options are likely to prove more than satisfying, as they run the gamut from tame to wild.

When visiting Six Flags Fiesta in San Antonio, you can ride the rides, check out the waterpark, see what's on the entertainment schedule, get something good to eat at one of the restaurants, or interest yourself in the shopping opportunities. As far as the Fiesta Texas San Antonio rides are concerned, there are ones to suit adrenaline junkies and others that cater to a tamer crowd. Big roller coasters that offer plenty of twists and turns figure among the thrill rides, and over at the White Water Bay Water Park area, a trip down Big Bender can take your breath away. At one point on the Big Bender waterslide, brave riders drop five stories in a virtual instant.

Should you be enjoying a family San Antonio vacation, there are also plenty of family rides and kid's rides to enjoy. The Whistle Stop train is a hit with kids and offers relaxing tours of the park, and the slightly haunted Scooby-Doo Ghost Ghostblasters ride offers just enough thrills for youngsters. Also a hit with families is the Lone Star Lagoon. It's the largest wave pool in the state, and as is true of the other water park attractions, it is open from early May until early September. It's worth noting that anyone who enjoys water parks might also have a blast at Splashtown while spending time in the San Antonio area. It too offers plenty of wet and wild thrills for the whole family and can be a great place to beat the heat.

It's not all about the rides and the water park attractions at Six Flags Fiesta in San Antonio. There is also ample entertainment here. Special kid's shows and concerts that are more suited for adults figure among the options. As for the dining possibilities, you can get anything from ice cream cones to burgers and chicken strips, to Chinese food at Fiesta Texas San Antonio. At the shops, Six Flags merchandise, candy, beach gear for the water park, and Looney Tunes merchandise figure among the goods that you can buy. Themed areas that celebrate Texas history and culture can also be found at Fiesta Texas San Antonio, and when you're not checking everything else out, the views that can be enjoyed from the ten-story cliffs that surround the park are worth taking in.

A bunch of wonderful free perks, such as a satisfying hot breakfast and free Internet access help to make the Drury Inn & Suites such a wonderful option, as does the fact that it's just one mile from the park.
