The city of Dallas has a new slogan “Live Large. Think Big.” which is perfect for the exciting city! There are so many things to do in Dallas Texas it might make your head spin! Dallas Texas attractions exemplify a colorful array of many exciting things in the city. There is no lack of fun things to do in Dallas although locals say it’s more difficult for tourists to delve through the layers and history as the city and its hundreds of neighborhoods are so spread out. Never fear as many of the top Dallas attractions are easy enough to find and will provide endless entertainment. Besides, sometimes the most fun can be had when getting a little lost and discovering attractions you might not otherwise know are there. Just be sure to have a map in hand in case!


Dallas Museums


Visiting museums has always been one of the favored things to do in Dallas Texas and it’s no wonder with the wealth of them in the city. The Dallas Museum of Art has an incredible collection of exhibits and the Sixth Floor Museum was where the infamous shots were fired by Oswald at J.F.K. The African American Museum comprises circulating exhibits broadening understanding through cultural and historical representations. Other museums that are Dallas attractions are the Firefighters Museum, the Museum of Natural History and the Center for Contemporary Art.


Dallas World Aquarium


Things to do in Dallas include discovering exhibits and events at the Dallas World Aquarium. Get swept away by displays such as the South American rainforest filled with wild and colorful animals of all sorts. Keenly watching the marine animals in the 85,000 gallon salt water tank is another of the fun things to do in Dallas while at the aquarium. This is a favorite of Dallas attractions so don’t miss it!


Nasher Sculptor Center


The Nasher Sculptor Center is an amazing art gallery displaying more then 300 sculptures for visitors to look over. This Dallas attractions exhibits include works from Matisse, Picasso, Rodin, de Kooning and more.


Deep Ellum


For the best of the best in nightlife and one of the most fun things to do in Dallas head over to Deep Ellum for a fantastic nightlife scene. Dallas Texas attractions in this neighborhood are the wealth of bars and restaurants featuring excellent live music, great food and a huge variety of interesting people. A few steps up from Austin Texas’ live music venues, Dallas takes the cake with Deep Ellum.


J.F.K. Memorial Plaza


The straightforward effigy of the slain ex-president was created at a plaza alongside the Texas Book Depository site. Things to do in Dallas include taking a look at this historical significant and important monument.


Dallas Zoo


Another of the really fun things to do in Dallas include a trip to the Dallas Zoo where tigers, chimps and elephants can all be seen as close as possible! The most popular Dallas Texas attractions at the Zoo are the Children’s Zoo, Wilds of Africa and Zoo North. Head over when the weather is nice and see many of the animals come out of hiding.


Dallas Green-Spaces

Fair Park is where the Texas State Fair is held every year and where 227 acres see many events, flea markets and other fun things to do while outdoors. White Rock Lake Park boasts 1015 acres of prime running, hiking, biking and fishing areas great for some exercise or people-watching. Things to do in Dallas outdoors also include a trip to Boulder Park and the Texas Discovery Gardens where a beautiful waterfall and double story tropical conservatory define the facility.


Neighborhood Tours


With more than 160 unique neighborhoods big and small things to do in Dallas Texas should include at least a small tour of the more popular districts. Greenville Avenue, the West End Historic District and Marketplace, Uptown, Highland Park Village, the Downtown District and University Park are just a few points of interest. Tour Uptown for great shopping and dining or take in excellent architectural style with a tour through the Swiss Avenue Historic District. For transportation use a rental car or take a historic walking tour.


Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens


The hectic pace of the city sometimes leads to hectic nerves and the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is the perfect cure for that. Exquisitely manicured lawns, beautiful flowers and peaceful woods st together on 66 acres. Take a leisurely stroll and admire the lovely scenery while you take a break from city life.
