USANA Amphitheatre

USANA Amphitheatre is the center of Salt Lake City’s live music scene—outside of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, of course. The 20,000-seat outdoor venue overlooks the Wasatch Mountains in West Valley City, a Salt Lake City suburb and the second-largest city in Utah. The name comes from USANA Health Sciences, a manufacturer of health supplements headquartered in West Valley City. In 2003, the year that the USANA Amphitheatre opened, the legendary stadium band Phish recorded a live album here, simply calling it Live Phish 07.15.03. In the years since, some of the biggest names in music have drawn the crowds to the amphitheatre, including the Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney, and Bob Dylan.

The exact seating configuration depends on the show, but in general, the USANA Amphitheatre seating chart shows 13,000 lawn seats and 7,000 seats closer to the stage. The lawn seats are general admission, and the rest of the seats are reserved in advance. Handicapped accessible seating is located in both sections. In addition to the lawn and reserved seating, the USANA Amphitheatre features VIP suites, 40 in total, that can hold 340 additional people. Facing the middle of the stage, the suites each accommodate between four and ten people for VIP experiences. Packages also include special parking privileges, and meals can be arranged.

USANA Amphitheatre Parking

To save both hassle and gas, the stadium has a carpool lot that offers access to a special entrance with none of the lines. As long as you have four people in your vehicle, and the lot is not full, you can use this lot. For cars with fewer people and groups who missed the carpool lot before it filled up, regular parking has been expanded, offering even more USANA Amphitheatre parking options. For an additional fee, you can upgrade to the preferred parking lot, which is close to the main entrance with a separate entrance into the amphitheatre. Handicapped parking is available near the VIP lot, on the east side of the stadium. A special entrance near the box office is available for concert-goers who are getting dropped off. Public transportation does not lead right to the venue, but taxis are available to take you from the rail stations and buses from Salt Lake City. It’s helpful to know that the lots open at noon, but the gates don’t typically open until 90 minutes before show time.
