Travel to Utah

For every season in the year, there is a perfect Utah vacation idea. Some people plan their Utah vacation by researching the best months for their favorite seasonal sport. Others may have an affinity for a particular Utah hotel, and plan their Utah vacation when the rates are at their lowest. Aside from the vast variety of tourist attractions in Utah, there are a number of seasonal events that also influence Utah travel.

If you plan to visit any of the state’s phenomenal national parks, keep in mind that summer is the peak season. This might make it difficult to find a reasonable rate on a Utah hotel. If you are a snow-sport enthusiast, the Christmas holidays, President’s Day weekends and Spring Break periods are the busiest season s at the ski resorts. The Utah hotel rates in the ski areas will be at their highest during these periods.

If you are planning to visit any of the desert tourist attractions in Utah, temperatures are at their coolest during the spring. The Salt Lake City tourist attractions in Utah are best enjoyed in the spring or autumn, since you will be doing a considerable amount of walking. If you are traveling with children, Utah also has some great family vacation ideas. However, it’s best to combine educational experiences with the “fun factor.” For example, Temple Square in Salt Lake City may be awe-inspiring, but your children may not be interested in spending their entire vacation learning Mormon history. Fortunately, there are some great family vacation ideas at the ski areas that are within driving distance of Salt Lake City.

While the Utah ski resorts have some excellent children’s ski schools, it’s best to first determine whether your kids really want to learn to ski or snowboard. Also, keep in mind that ski school should not be used as a babysitting service. Your kids probably want to spend some time with you, so make sure that you arrange for family time on the slopes. Some resorts even offer family ski or snowboard lessons.

Aside from skiing and snowboarding, Utah has some other family vacation ideas for snow lovers. Snowshoeing is great exercise, and has a short learning curve. Sleigh rides can also be a fun and exciting experience for the entire family. If your kids are thrill seekers, the Utah Olympic Park allows you to participate in a 70-mph bobsled run with a professional driver. Families who love animals will enjoy the dog sled rides, where loveable and adorable Siberian huskies take you for a ride across the snowfields.

Kanab also has some excellent family vacation ideas for animal lovers. Pay a visit to the famous Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Angel Canyon, or visit the Greyhound Gathering in May. If you moms are not afraid to let your babies grow up to be cowboys, visit the Frontier Movie Town in Kanab.
