Zion National Park Lodging

Zion National Park lodging comes in a variety of forms: There are motels, inns, lodges, cabins, and campgrounds to choose among, and this range of options allows travelers to choose accommodations that suit a range of tastes and travel budgets. Only one hotel is actually located within the park’s boundaries, and the other in-park lodging options are campgrounds. However, a number of hotels near Zion National Park make up for the small number of options in the park, and the farther away you go, the cheaper these hotels get. Regardless of where you’re staying, chances are good that your hotel or campground will be fully booked in the peak summer season. The same goes for the area campgrounds, so anyone who is in need of Zion National Park lodging in the summer should book as far in advance as possible.
Zion National Park Lodges

Several area lodges provide Zion National Park area visitors with lovely accommodations options. Among them is the Zion Lodge. Built in 1925 and then rebuilt in 1966 after a fire, this historic hotel is the only in-park lodging option, and that alone makes it worth considering for most visitors. However, the nearby lodges are high quality as well, and they include the Majestic View Lodge, and the Historic Pioneer Lodge & Restaurant. The lodges also offer extra services to make up for their outside locations; for instance, the Majestic View Lodge is its free shuttle service to the park. The Cliffrose Lodge & Gardens has a beautiful location just outside the park boundaries, and the Historic Pioneer Lodge & Restaurant it offers plenty of Old West style to go with its comfortable rooms and convenient facilities.
Hotels in Zion National Park

Although the Zion Lodge is the only actual hotel within the park, it is no issue to find convenient lodging nearby. There are a few inns and budget-friendly motels very close to Zion; the nearby town of Springdale, for instance, has accommodations. Among the inns near Zion is the splendid Flanigan’s Inn. You can find this attractive hotel just outside of the park entrance in Springdale, and it’s a great place to relax, as it includes spa services along with nice rooms, a restaurant, and organized activities in the park. Other good-quality inns nearby are the Under the Eaves Inn and the Desert Pearl Inn. As for other hotels near Zion National Park, the Harvest House B&B caters to bed and breakfast fans, and motels such as the Zion Park and Canyon Ranch motels. These are ideal for the budget-conscious, and they offer good amenities. The Canyon Ranch Motel (pictured above), for instance, has a pool and hot tub with a beautiful view of the surrounding rocks. Also worth keeping in mind for those who are searching for affordable area lodging is the well-priced Best Western East Zion Thunderbird Lodge.
Zion National Park Camping

Zion National Park offers two developed campgrounds for outdoor enthusiasts. These campgrounds include the Watchman Campground and the South Campground. Both are found near the park’s south entrance, and they have friendly atmospheres as well as modern restrooms and RV sites. The Watchman Campground is also open year-round, For those who prefer a more primitive camping experience, there’s the Lava Point Campground. Located along Kolob Terrace Road, this campground is about an hour’s drive from Zion Canyon and has vault toilets, fire grates, and picnic tables. Campers who wish to use showers during their stay can pay to use the facilities at some of the commercial campgrounds outside the park, including the East Zion Riverside RV Park and the Zion Canyon Campground.
Zion National Park Cabins

If you enjoy staying close to nature but prefer something more solid than a tent, then renting a cabin for your Zion National Park Utah vacation might be the perfect way to go. For this option, good places to start include the Zion Lodge and the Zion Mountain Ranch. The Zion Lodge cabins feature such delights as a full bath, a gas log fireplace, and a private porch. Zion Mountain Ranch cabins are relatively luxurious; standard amenities include a gas fireplace, heating, air conditioning, satellite TV, a DVD player, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, and a microwave. Complementing the regular cabins at the Zion Mountain Ranch are more spacious lodge cabins that are better suited for families, so guests can choose based on the size of their vacation party.
