Flight To Vermont

Several major airlines now service Vermont, mostly through the state’s major airport in Burlington. You can now get a flight to Vermont from many major American cities, including Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Cleveland, and Washington DC. Continental Airlines also has a flight to Vermont from Boston to Rutland, not far the Killington ski resort.

If there isn’t a direct flight to Vermont from an airport near you, there may be New England flights to Albany, New York; Manchester, New Hampshire; or Hartford, Connecticut—all a short distance to Vermont by car. Car rental companies operate out of Burlington International Airport and other area airports.

Several major airlines offer Vermont flights. Delta has daily flights from Boston to Burlington International Airport. Continental offers service from several major cities to Burlington and Rutland (operated by CommuteAir). Other airlines offering Vermont flights include US Airways, Northwest, United, and Linear Air.

In recent years, competition from the budget airline JetBlue, which has cheap flights to Vermont for as little as $49 one-way from Boston, has made all airlines lower their prices for Vermont flights. JetBlue is a no-frills airline, but its service to Burlington has shaken up the market for New England flights.

With its service from Philadelphia connecting Burlington to cities across the United States and around the world, US Airways is often the best choice for cheap flights to Vermont from outside the northeast. As with any destination, it is worth using an online ticket service to find cheap flights to Vermont, especially if you are also looking for hotel accommodation and a rental car.

Taking New England flights to Boston is also a good option for travelers coming from the South, West, or from other countries. Most major airlines have flights to Logan International Airport. You can get a flight to Vermont from there or rent a car and make the short (three to four hour drive) through Massachusetts.
