Fairfax

Fairfax

When planning a vacation Virginia is a great choice as is the Virginia city of Fairfax, located in Fairfax County Virginia. Since its settlement in the 1700s, Fairfax has played an important role in Virginia’s governmental and cultural activities. When visiting Fairfax County Virginia, take the time to see the Fairfax Museum and Visitors Center, the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum, or if you’re there in the month of July, experience the City of Fairfax 4th of July Parade and celebration.

Fairfax County Virginia is home to more than 125 restaurants, so when you get there, wear something loose fitting and dive right in. A popular Fairfax Virginia restaurant is the Baliwick Inn, offering breakfast, lunch, tea, cocktails and dinner in an elegant old inn located in Fairfax County Virginia Old Town. This four diamond Fairfax Virginia restaurant is also a member of the Distinguished Inns of North America and offers scrumptious fare as well as overnight accommodations. Another Fairfax Virginia restaurant of note is Artie’s Restaurant, known for their full-service family dining experience with offerings of fresh seafood, blackened prime rib, dinner specials, pasta, desserts and more.

On the fourth of July Fairfax is the place to be if you like Independence Day festivals and celebrating the red white and blue. Fairfax offers up a two-hour parade that winds through the historic downtown area beginning at 10 a.m. before a crowd that usually numbers around 35,000. The 200 parade units include guest bands from across the nation as well as floats, clowns and local businesses and organizations. The Fairfax parade is the largest parade in Northern Virginia and is free to all spectators, usually lasting about one hour. It’s also great fun for the younger companions you may have traveling with you.

For a great Bed and Breakfast in Fairfax, vacation Virginia in style by staying at the Stafford House Bed and Breakfast. Each room in this establishment features a fireplace, wireless internet, and you’ll also enjoy a private entrance and parking. Other amenities available at the Stafford House are: Jacuzzi, sauna, jetted shower or claw foot tub. Breakfast delivered to your room in the morning is included in the nightly rate (average over $125 per night).

Fairfax County Virginia is also home to the cities of Arlington and McLean, most well known for the Arlington National Cemetery and the Spring 18th Century Market Fair, respectively. Vacation Virginia, and visit all three Fairfax County Virginia cities to make your trip that much more special.
