Virginia Beach Amusement Park

Virginia Beach Amusement Park is the place to go for oceanfront rides, events, and other fun diversions. An easy find while walking along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, Fun Spot Action Park is located at 233 15th Street, Virginia Beach, near the fishing pier and between 17th Street Park and the Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort & Hotel.

A small carnival-style park packed with punch, the Virginia Beach Boardwalk Park operates seasonally: every day of the week in the summer to Labor Day and from September, it is open weekends from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. until October. The park is fun for all ages—even mom and dad can enjoy some of the rides including the large Ferris wheel offering terrific views of the surrounding beaches and water.

Strolling the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, attractions such as museums, historic sites, and all types of art installations are top places to explore when visiting. When traveling with children, stopping in for a visit to the amusement park can be the perfect way to pep up the kids, get some energy out, and focus on some exhilarating fun for a while. There are many carnival-style rides at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk Park including the Skycoaster, a ten-story roller coaster situated at the boardwalk’s south end. There are bumper cars, a carousel ideal for smaller kids with plenty of different animals to ride on, and Go-Karts, which are one of the most popular rides for they are always packed with kids. You'll see a lot of these attractions in Virginia Beach photos that highlight what a fun family destination the city is.

There are nominal fees for some rides at the park. There is a flat-fee charged for the Skyscraper while individual park tickets are required for other rides. Wristbands are also available for all-day visits depending on the time of your arrival. There are also lots of fun games to play, akin to those found at regular carnivals that charge small fees to play with the possibility of winning a variety of prizes.

There are several hotels to choose between in close range to Virginia Beach Boardwalk Park. If fishing is a particular favorite, close proximity to the pier means the ability to get out for some early morning fishing without a long walk or drive. Fairfield Inn & Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront is north of the park while the Hampton Inn Virginia Beach South and Quality Inn & Suites Oceanfront are to the south. All offer good value for families. With the boardwalk adjacent to each of these hotels, there is never a dull moment. Even a simple walk along the shores presents many different adventures and affords the chance to take it as it comes rather than planning out the day.

To the west of the oceanfront lies a bevy more things to do, and with a rental car, these attractions are easy to get to and provide lots of fun. The Oceana Naval Station is a great place to take a tour and learn more about the facility. The Contemporary Arts Center of Virginia presents a large variety of art work in several mediums, and southwest, the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center is yet another of top family-friendly attractions near the Virginia Beach Amusement Park.

Visiting the Virginia Beach Amusement Park is one of the cheaper things to do in Virginia Beach along with special events like free concerts at Blues at the Beach, visiting historic Cape Henry Lighthouse, and enjoying free educational events in First Landing State Park such as surf fishing, hiking, and wildlife tracking, all family-friendly activities.
