Bellingham Hotels

Bellingham hotels can bet a great base from which to enjoy some of Washington State’s natural beauty. Although Bellingham is smaller than Seattle, located just 25 miles south of the Canadian border, it has excellent museums and local culture due to nearby Western Washington University, and from Bellingham you are well placed to visit the shops and restaurants of the city's neighborhoods, and Whatcom Falls Park runs right through the city, with miles of trails, waterfalls, and gorges to explore. In the winter, the Mt Baker Ski Area is not far away either.

One of the most popular and best value cheap hotels in Bellingham Washington is the Fairhaven Village Inn. True to its name, the Fairhaven Village Inn has a small-town feel, with quaint but elegant décor. A cozy fireplace in the lobby invites you to sit back and relax, while a charming library and complimentary tea, coffee, and fruit make this hotel a home away from home. Located in the Fairhaven district of the city, the Inn is located close to the downtown shops and restaurants and within steps of the waterfront. The Alaska Ferry Terminal is close by, and the town is within a few hours' drive from Vancouver BC and Seattle. Rooms are spacious and comfortably appointed, again with a homey, small-town atmosphere. Free wireless internet and a lavish continental breakfast are provided, with fruit, breads, eggs, and more. Although this charming little inn doesn't have the big amenities like a fitness room, pool or business center, it provides ample comfort and the basics for an enjoyable trip. Best of all, the price at the Fairhaven Village Inn is extremely reasonable among the Bellingham hotels.

Another popular choice for a reasonably priced hotel is the Coachman Inn. At prices comparable to chain motels, the Coachman provides a friendlier experience, making it one of the best cheap hotels in Bellingham Washington. The rooms are basic, but spotlessly clean and pleasant with simple but well-chosen and newly renovated décor. Free coffee, tea, wireless internet, a fridge and a TV provide pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay, and there is ample food at the continental breakfast. There is an exercise area, a hot tub and an outdoor pool. Located conveniently off the I-5, this one of the best Bellingham hotels to stay at if you're passing through the area, but is also within a few minutes' drive of downtown Bellingham and nearby trails.

For a slightly more upscale, but still intimate and charming experience, consider staying at the Bellweather Hotel (pictured). It has a superb location overlooking the marina and Puget Sound with a spectacular backdrop of snow-capped mountains. A perfect romantic getaway for a couple or a quiet retreat for a group, the Bellweather Hotel's atmospheric location can't be beat. An expansive lawn overlooking the marina leads to a paved trail for a pleasant walk, and private balconies in many of the rooms give you a wonderful view of the sunset. The interior of the hotel is decorated in a classic style, and the rooms and suites are comfortable and pleasant, with traditional furniture befitting the hotel's quaint elegance. Some suites have hot tubs and fireplaces, and a free breakfast is included with your stay. The Bellweather is not the cheapest of the cheap hotels in Bellingham Washington, but the price is reasonable given the spectacular location.
