Washington State Luxury Hotels

Washington state luxury hotels set a high standard, and when you’re traveling around the wilderness of the Olympic Peninsula or marveling at the quaint charm of nearby towns, it’s always nice to relax and settle down for the night in a beautiful and luxurious setting. There are many luxury Seattle hotels, of course, as it is Washington's largest city, but there are also many upscale hotels available throughout the smaller towns in the state. Below are suggestions for some of the best hotels in Washington State so you can spend your nights in style and comfort while exploring the area's attractions.

To stay where the moneyed elite of the early twentieth century stayed, you'll definitely want to make a stop at the Davenport Hotel (pictured) in Spokane. This five-star hotel is one of the oldest Washington State luxury hotels in Spokane and is an attraction in its own right. It is decorated with 1920s grandeur, with crystal chandeliers, traditional furniture, gilded ceilings, and luxurious details such as a grand piano in the lobby, an upscale restaurant, soaking bathtubs in the rooms, and more. The exterior is striking with its historical design, and tours are available for you to view some of the more interesting historical elements of the building. You can choose to stay in the older historical hotel tower, which was one of the best hotels in Washington State since its inception in 1919, and one of the first hotels in America to incorporate central air conditioning, or the more modern addition, although all rooms have amenities that have been updated to be in keeping with today's luxury hotels. Nearby in downtown Spokane, the boutique hotel Lusso is also owned by the Davenport and offers a slightly more restrained, though still luxe experience.

On the very opposite end of the traditional-modern spectrum is the ultra-contemporary Hotel Murano in Tacoma. Located next to the Museum of Glass and the Tacoma Art Museum, the hotel incorporates a modern artistic sensibility into its décor, with swooping glass forms and sculptures placed prominently throughout the hotel. The hotel is decorated with spare and sleek lines, and your room will feature the epitome of modern comfort, with iPod docks, flat-screen TVs, and designer toiletries.

Just outside of Seattle, the Hotel Bellevue in Bellevue offers 4½-star luxury in the more laid-back atmosphere of the smaller town while being in close vicinity to the city. One of the best hotels in Washington State, the Bellevue Hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World association, offering personalized service in an intimate setting. The enormous fitness club that guests can access is legendary, and you'll be equally pampered with the free wireless internet, complimentary newspapers, bathrobes, and designer toiletries in your room, as well as deep soaking tubs, and an on-site pool and spa available should you need a little extra R&R.
Although it is not a typical luxury hotel, the Great Wolf Lodge in Washington commands luxury prices for the amazing water park and other amusements it offers. For the best value, stay in a family suite and spend a couple of days swimming in the wave pool, sliding down the water slides, or playing in the arcade. For adults, an Aveda spa and several indoor and outdoor hot tubs provide some pampering for the adults while the kids play.
Staying in one of these Washington State luxury hotels can make your stay in the state more manageable and relaxing. There's nothing like having your needs taken care of after a long hard day of being a tourist.
