Moses Lake Washington

Moses Lake Washington sits on the shores of the lake that inspired its name and can be found in the east-central part of the state. This region is markedly drier than more westerly parts of Washington, and residents enjoy around 300 sunny days on an average annual basis. The word "desert" is actually used with frequency to describe the Moses Lake climate. As for top attractions, they include the eponymous lake and the Surf n’ Slide Water Park.
Moses Lake Washington isn’t a terribly large city. According to the 2010 census, approximately 20,000 people call it home. This makes it the largest city in Grant County, however, and it certainly figures among the area’s top destinations. Many visitors come to enjoy water sports activities on Moses Lake, and the birdwatching at the Potholes Wildlife reservation is particularly excellent. Teeing it up for a round at the wonderful Moses Pointe Golf Resort is just one more option for things to do on a Moses Lake escape, and Grant County in general offers splendid hiking and camping opportunities. Add in the friendly, small town appeal of downtown Moses Lake and the city’s all around affordability, and it becomes even more clear that this can make for a great vacation destination.
Moses Lake

The main attraction in Moses Lake Washington is the lake that shares the city’s name. This lake has 120 miles of shoreline and is one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in the state. Visitors who wish to go boating and/or water skiing can take advantage of its boat launch, and other facilities include picnic areas, a playground and restrooms. Surrounding Moses Lake is beautiful Columbia Basin scenery, and this only accentuates the appeal that is associated with spending some time out on the water.
Surf 'n Slide Water Park

Thanks in part to this rather complete water park, the city of Moses Lake lends itself well to family vacations. Among the main features at Surf n’ Slide are the 200-foot water slides, the lazy river, the surfing simulator and the beach and bay swimming area. Sand volleyball courts and a picnic shelter are also among the facilities, and guests can grab something to eat or drink at the convenient concession stand. Memorial Day through Labor Day is when the Surf n’ Slide Water Park is open for business, and the rates aim to please.
Moses Lake Spring Festival

As is true of many cities and towns around Washington State, Moses Lake plays host to festivals and other community events throughout the year. The main event on the annual calendar is known as the Moses Lake Spring Festival. Held over Memorial Day Weekend, this festival basically helps kick off the peak summer tourist season. Entertainment comes in a variety of forms, including live music performances, a special "Kiddie Parade", a separate "Grand Moonlight Parade" and carnival-style rides and games. Seeing what the commercial vendors and the food vendors have to offer is also an option, and side events include a car show and a three-on-three basketball tournament.
