Lopez Island Hotels

Lopez Island hotels provide visitors to the San Juan Islands chain with some interesting lodging options. One of the hotels is a small resort, and there are at least two delightful bed and breakfasts to choose from. If these Lopez Island lodging options don't meet your needs, there are a few other options worth considering. Perhaps you'll pass on the hotels altogether and stay at a rental property. Whatever you ultimately decide, a fun and relaxing stay is all but guaranteed. This island is known for its friendly locals, not to mention its tranquility, and there is enough in the way of activities to keep things interesting.

Should you be in need of a place to stay on Lopez Island, you might start your lodging search with the Lopez Islander Resort. This small resort sits on beautiful Fisherman Bay, and most of the 31 guest units offer wonderful views of the water. As is true of other San Juan Islands resorts, the Lopez Islander features guest units to suit a relatively wide range of tastes and budgets. The simpler rooms boast little more than a color TV, a bed, and a bathroom, while the more complete guest units throw in some extra perks, such as microwaves and wet bars. If this isn't enough, you can look to book a suite with multiple bedrooms, a full kitchen, private laundry facilities, and a fireplace. There are even some RV and camping sites at the Lopez Islander Resort. The resort's general facilities include an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a workout room, a restaurant, a lounge, and a full-service marina that offers kayak rentals. Bikes can also be rented at the resort if you prefer taking an onshore excursion.

Bed and breakfasts are relatively prevalent in the San Juan Islands, and you'll find one of the best on Lopez Island. The Edenwild Inn is a delightful B&B that exudes country charm. There are eight guest units to choose from, and while none are overly luxurious, the comfort level is quite high. Antique furnishings add a historic edge throughout, and some guest units feature fireplaces and/or clawfoot tubs. Phones and TVs are lacking in the guest units, as it's all about getting away from the real world at the Edenwild Inn. As for the common areas, they include a living room with a fireplace, a patio with tables and chairs, a tranquil garden, and a breakfast room. A full, European-style breakfast is included in the rates, and it can help you get ready for a full day of fishing, cycling, or something the like.

Another Lopez Island lodging establishment that B&B enthusiasts will want to consider is the Mackaye Harbor Inn. Formerly the home of a sea captain, this historic inn dates back to the early 1900s. Renovations over the years have helped to keep the hotel current. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi service, for example. The decor, as is true at the Edenwild Inn, has a country appeal, and the seven guest units offer plenty of comfort. When you're not relaxing in your comfortable guest unit at the Mackaye Harbor Inn, you can relax in the waterfront parlor room, take in water views from the ample lawn, or borrow a mountain bike at no extra cost and go exploring. Kayak rentals are available for an added fee, as are onsite massage treatments, but you won't have to pay extra for breakfast.

These Lopez Islands hotels are relatively expensive, though there are some simpler rooms among them for those who are looking to keep their lodging costs down. If you are truly serious about finding cheap Lopez Island accommodations, however, then the Lopez Farm Cottages and Tent Camping is arguably the lodging establishment for you. This unique hotel offers budget-friendly camping sites, one of which is already equipped with a comfortable tent that features a futon bed. Should there be more room in the budget or you simply prefer having four walls around you, it is possible to rent a cottage unit at Lopez Farm Cottages and Tent Camping. All five cottages are modern and well-equipped. Standard amenities include a queen-size bed, a kitchen, and a fireplace. Surrounding the cottages and campsites at Lopez Farm Cottages and Tent Camping is 30 acres of forest and pastureland, and you might be happy to know that beaches, shops, and restaurants are only about a mile away.
