The Roche Harbor hotels aren't prolific in number. In fact, there is only one hotel to choose from at the Roche Harbor village, and it's the Roche Harbor Resort. That being said, this resort offers a variety of lodging options to choose from. Guests can book one of the relatively cheap rooms in the historic Hotel de Haro, secure a boutique-style unit at Quarryman Hall, or see if one of the upscale rooms in the McMillin Suites building is available. Spacious condos that are good on amenities are also available at the Roche Harbor Resort, and it's possible to book a condo with a kitchen or an upscale home if you prefer. Among other things, the homes feature gourmet kitchens, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and walk-in closets.

It's not all about the fantastic lodging options at the Roche Harbor Resort. This popular San Juan Islands destination features a marina, so things to do such as kayaking tour and whale watching cruises are easy to arrange during a stay. When guests aren't enjoying pursuits like these, they can visit one of the resort's three restaurants, get some drinks at the lounge, play tennis on one of two courts, or indulge in rejuvenating treatments at the full service spa. There are even some shops to duck into on the side, and both bikes and mopes are available for rent.

Should you be interested in Roche Harbor accommodations, you might also consider the other hotels on San Juan Island. The island is fairly small, so you won't be very far from Roche Harbor wherever you choose to stay. The Friday Harbor hotels offer an array of lodging options, so you might start there. Should you wish to be closer to Roche Harbor, however, you might prefer the Lakedale Resort. One of the best resorts in the San Juan Islands, it can be found between Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor.

As for those who might have had their hearts set on Roche Harbor camping, there aren't any options in the immediate area. You can always consider the other San Juan Islands camping options, however. Not too far from Roche Harbor on San Juan Island, for example, is the Snug Harbor Marina Resort. It offers year round camping, not to mention some enticing waterfront cabins and a sheltered marina.
