Friday Harbor is a great place to start when trying to find cheap San Juan Island accommodations. There are a few discount hotels in and around town, including the Discovery Inn. This motel-style hotel at 1016 Guard Street offers twenty nonsmoking rooms, and while these rooms might be lacking in the decor department, they have good amenities. Complimentary Internet access is among the standard amenity highlights, and you will also have cable TV and a coffee maker at your disposal.

Another great place to search for San Juan Island lodging is Roche Harbor. There aren't a lot of Roche Harbor hotels to choose from. In fact, the area is home to a single resort. This wonderful retreat between Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor also offers a variety of lodging options, the likes of which include tasteful lodge rooms, well-equipped cabins, a spacious lake house, and campsites. You can even rent a Vintage Airstream camper or a canvas tent that features a cozy bed and other amenities that you might not expect to enjoy while camping. Three lakes can be found on the resort's more than 80-acre grounds, and they can be used for recreational activities such as canoeing and swimming.

There are a number of wonderful bed and breakfasts in the San Juan Islands, and the island of San Juan boasts some of the best. Among them is the Wildwood Manor B&B. This casual and elegant inn is situated at 5335 Roche Harbor Road, which means that the drive from the ferry landing should only take around ten minutes.
