The Chihuly Garden and Glass showcases the creative genius of artist Dale Chihuly and offers a panoramic profusion of colors and intricately detailed glass art – scheduled for opening in the spring of 2012 at the Seattle Center.
There is nothing quite like the works of art being exhibited at Chihuly Garden and Glass. The collection spans current creations as well as art sculptures created by Chuhuly throughout his extensive career. Each piece is skillfully created using a palette of colors from soft pastels and earth tones to bright citron and bold purple. The juxtaposition of solid, blended, and color on color pieces along with the lifelike structure of each piece result in incredibly detailed modernistic, realistic, and futuristic artwork.
The Seattle Center glass museum is a world of exploration with Chihuly’s exquisite glass art exhibited amid garden settings resulting in stunning realistic pieces. Each piece of glasswork is artistically arranged among living plants, trees, reeds, and flowers providing a breathtaking effect. Clear ponds serve as a backdrop for delicate lily pads and reflect the surroundings of the garden and art creating a soothing and serene environment.
The Chihuly Garden and Glass complex utilizes thousands of square feet to create an outdoor plaza, indoor pavilion, 43-foot tall glass house containing Chihuly’s largest pieces of glasswork, and a combination bookstore and retail store with gift items, and art supplies. The museum is a fine addition to the other Seattle Center attractions, like the Space Needle and the Experience Music Project.
