Located only 45 minutes east of Seattle is the Summit at Snoqualmie, a very popular ski area in Washington. The Summit has four alpine base areas, and there are nearly two thousand acres of prime forest to ski in. The Snoqualmie Pass is right in the center of the Snoqualmie/Mount Baker Forest.

There is an average of almost 450 inches of snow a year, making Snoqualmie Pass one of the best areas to ski in the Cascade Mountains that is relatively easy to get to.

Snoqualmie has a number of areas to ski in.

Summit Central: Here, there is a black diamond for beginners, tubes, glades, and top-to bottom terrain parks.

Summit East: This has 50 miles of groomed trails, and regular fall line terrain.

Summit West: This is where you can find the Snow skate Park, the Freestyle Park, and the West Greenhorn Park.

On the Summit at Snoqualmie, you can enjoy snowboarding, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snow skating. There are lots of extra conveniences, like the guided tours through the 50 KM of backcountry trails. You can rent a snowboard in any the Summit rental buildings. The highlight of the Central Park ski area is the Super Pipe. There are 17-foot high walls that run 400 feet. The crew constantly maintains the Super pipe in prime condition, which is smoothed day and night.

For lodging, there is the Summit Lodge. The 80 rooms are generous and comfortable, with a pool, sauna, and a hot tub. Other nearby spots to stay are the Saint Anton Chalet and Alpental, the Hyak Lodge, and the Snoqualmie Inn.

While these are all great places to stay at while you ski at Snoqualmie Pass, you have a better option if you want to save money. Skiing is an expensive recreational activity, so the value of getting discount lift tickets with you ski package really helps you cut down on costs. The package deals at the resort at the Summit at Snoqualmie usually include entrance fees, ski rentals, lodging, and discount lift tickets.

If you're in the area, by winter or by summer, Snoqualmie Falls is also an attraction within driving distance of the Summit at Snoqualmie. Snoqualmie Falls sees more that a million visitors per year to its 270 cascading waterfalls. This area was sacred to the Snoqualmie and other tribes, so you too might feel a surge of energy when you visit Snoqualmie Falls. There is an observation deck, gift shop and a two-acre park.
