Manitowoc Hotels

There are many excellent choices for Manitowoc accommodations that run the gamut of style, taste, and budget. You're sure to find whatever kind suits you. There is everything from deluxe waterfront Manitowoc hotels to camping areas, cabins for rent, and bed and breakfast inns full of maritime history.
One of the best options for cheap lodging in Manitowoc is to look at some of the many vacation packages that are available. These can be very financially attractive during the peak summer tourist season when rates and occupancy are at the highest. Additionally, you will find that many Manitowoc accommodations will offer very attractive packages for events or skiing trips during the slower winter months.
Other cheap lodging in Manitowoc options can be found at Manitowoc motels, and some of these properties are very nice indeed. As this region is one of the most popular resorts in the state, they are generally a bit more sophisticated than you might find in countryside areas with a less sophisticated tourism infrastructure. You will find a good representation of national franchise properties, such as Super 8, Econo Lodge, AmericInn, and Comfort Inn. There are also a number of small, private Manitowoc motels that sometimes offer a surprising list of amenities and services.
While free wireless Internet and cable movies are common these days, you don't often find little local properties offering fishing charters, fish cleaning tables, and fish freezers. But many Manitowoc motels have these. You'll also find recreational vehicle hook-ups and camping areas. Some of the best cheap lodging in Manitowoc may well be one of the many campgrounds. Most have lake access, beaches, and swimming pools. Point Beach State Forest has hiking, skiing, and bike trails. Some have river sports in addition to lake activities.
There is also a large assortment of Manitowoc hotels and resorts available, including outside of the city and in the community of Two Rivers, which is under ten miles away and also located on the shores of Lake Michigan. The two communities share their Chamber of Commerce, the local airport, the Mariners biking trail, and a rich maritime history. Some of these Manitowoc hotels are also nationwide chains, including Holiday Inn and Best Western, which is a very nice property scenically located right on the lakefront. But there are also a number of small, private hotels with real character, including Lighthouse Inn on the Lake, which is one of the resorts in Two Rivers, and it has its own lighthouse.
Another option for Manitowoc accommodations with character and history is to look at the charming bed and breakfast inns. There are several in both Manitowoc and Two Rivers. They are often located in historic houses built in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and are actual attractions in themselves. In these unique properties, you can get to know the local people, have easy access to all the things to do in the area, and sometimes even wake up to the delightful aromas of a home bakery. These may well be some of the best cheap lodging in Manitowoc options.
