Superior Wisconsin Hotels

There are many accommodations in Superior from which to choose, including resorts along the lakeshore and in the surrounding countryside. When you're making your plans and deciding when to go, don't forget to do a little research on the superior hotels located in around Duluth Minnesota. The two are twin cities, just across the bay from each other, and Duluth has many of the attractions that bring people to Superior. In fact, Fitger's Inn of Duluth is the only AAA Four Diamond property in the region. Luxurious rooms and suites all overlook the bay.

The city is located along the main freeway that goes to Minneapolis and St. Paul in Minnesota to the west. Because of this, you will find numerous Superior motels located both in town and along the highway. These provide excellent cheap Superior lodging if you're on a budget, and some of the Superior motels offer facilities and amenities that you'd expect at a resort or more upscale property, including microwaves, refrigerators, free Internet access, and movies.

You'll find that a number of Superior motels are recognizable chains, such as Holiday Inn Express and Best Western. These might actually be considered Superior hotels as they have very nice amenities, including two-person spa tubs and free passes to local fitness centers.

Because of its location on Lake Michigan and access to wilderness areas with great outdoor activities, you will find many very nice local Superior hotels and resorts. One of these is the Barkers Island Inn and Resort, which can help you with fishing charters. Its indoor pool makes it a good option during the winter months if you've come for cross-country or downhill skiing and snowmobiling. And it has a nice private beach.

Cheap Superior lodging can also be found at the many sites available for camping in the surrounding countryside. Some campgrounds have many of the facilities that resorts do, offering fishing boat launches, horseback riding, and hiking trails. The difference with these kinds of accommodations in Superior is that you bring your own "house." It can be a tent for primitive camping, or a recreational vehicle for more of the comforts of home. There are also many properties that have rustic cabins and chalets for rent.

More cheap Superior lodging that will give you insight into the region's history and local interactions can be found in charming bed and breakfast inns. There are several in Superior and some really lovely ones over the Minnesota border in Duluth. In the city is the Raspberry Inn, located in a lovely old home and with seven rooms to choose from. Along the shoreline west of the city are many little Superior hotels and inns. This is also a great scenic drive that follows the shore to the Bay Peninsula.

There are accommodations in Superior that will suit almost all tastes, and are suitable for anyone's budget.
