Wisconsin Dells Resorts

Several Wisconsin Dells resorts offer large waterparks, and as you might expect, these resorts are extremely popular among families. They are also partly responsible for the Wisconsin Dells region being known as "The Waterpark Capital of the World." Perhaps the most notable thing about said resorts, however, is the fact that they tend to offer indoor waterpark facilities in conjunction with outdoor waterpark facilities. This means that guests can have a splashing good time regardless of the weather.

The Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort at 511 East Adams Street is easily one of the most popular Wisconsin Dells resorts. This popularity has something to do with the fact that it is the largest waterpark resort in the country. Guests enjoy access to no less than 500,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor waterpark facilities, but that’s not all. Another highlight is the resort’s Wild Rock Golf Club. Widely regarded as one of the best golf courses in Wisconsin, Wild Rock offers scenic beauty to go with its challenging holes, and since there are five sets of tees, all levels of golfers can find a setup that suits their skill set. In relation to accommodations, guests of the Wilderness Resort Wisconsin Dells can book a "Northwoods-inspired" room at the Wilderness Hotel or opt instead to secure one of the Wilderness Villas & Condos units. More rooms and suites are available at the Glacier Canyon Lodge, and should a fully-furnished cabin sound good, there are 35 of them to choose from in the Wilderness Cabins area. Rounding out the Wilderness Resort Wisconsin Dells lodging options are the rather upscale units at Wilderness on the Lake.

The Kalahari Resort Wisconsin Dells (pictured above) is another waterpark resort that families are encouraged to keep in mind when planning their Wisconsin vacations. The flagship resort of the Kalahari brand, this property at 1305 Kalahari Drive is one of the largest resorts in all of Wisconsin. Taking up a considerable amount of space on the Kalahari Resort Wisconsin Dells grounds is a 125,000 square-foot indoor waterpark, and weather permitting, guests can also take advantage of the Zambezi Outdoor Waterpark. Complementing the waterparks at the Kalahari Resort is an indoor theme park that covers 100,000 square feet and features such things as a Ferris wheel, a bowling alley, a miniature golf course, and go carts. A variety of eateries aim to satisfy when thirst or hunger set in during a visit, and for those who are wondering about lodging, the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells offers 750 comfortable rooms and suites. Some of the suites feature full kitchens, and it should be noted that ten-bedroom suites are available.

The Great Wolf Lodge brand of resorts offers properties in a variety of U.S. locations. (There is also one Great Wolf Lodge property that calls Canada home. The Canadian resort is more specifically found in Niagara Falls.) Among the U.S. properties, one of the most popular is the Great Wolf Lodge Wisconsin Dells, which is found at 1400 Great Wolf Drive. This Wisconsin resort was actually the first Great Wolf Lodge to be opened. It began welcoming guests in 1997 and has had little trouble renting rooms ever since. Helping to draw them in are the wonderful indoor waterpark facilities, but that’s not where the allure ends. Other features include an arcade, a special Cub Club area where kids can enjoy a variety of fun activities, and a kids spa where young ones can enjoy such things as pedicures and facials. On the lodging side of things, the Great Wolf Lodge Wisconsin Dells offers spacious suites and even larger condos that are simply ideal for families.
