Cheyenne is known as the industrious capitol of Wyoming. Cheyenne Wyoming is called the "Magic City of the Plains.” It’s the state's oldest city and also it’s largest. Cheyenne is around 100 miles north of Denver, Colorado.  Some of the best Cheyenne hotels for travelers from out of town are found in downtown Cheyenne, within walking distance of the city’s most popular attractions.  Suggested itineraries for walking tours of Cheyenne or other ways to explore Wyoming are a great addition to your Cheyenne vacation.


Cheyenne offers a wide range of attractions in Wyoming. The attractions in Cheyenne Wyoming are spectacular events like Super Day, which is an annual celebration that marks the beginning of National Parks & Recreation Month. Cheyenne Frontier Days, a one of a kind western celebration and rodeo nicknamed "The Daddy of Them All" is a yearly western style festival that attracts thousands upon thousands of visitors to Cheyenne each year.  The state of Wyoming, in fact, hosts a number of annual events and festivals that are beloved by locals and frequently visited by tourists. 


Other exciting attractions in Cheyenne Wyoming are Oktoberfest, the Goblin Walk at Halloween, and Cheyenne also offers an elaborate Christmas Parade. There are also many ski resorts located nearby in The Medicine Bow National Forest and in the Colorado Rockies. Another interesting attraction is Gunslingers, a reenactment of gunfights, western skits, and Wild West activities in the Old Town Square in downtown Cheyenne.


A Cheyenne tour may be the best way to experience the town and its history. One of the most popular Cheyenne tour offers is a fully-narrated historic tours on the enclosed Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley. It runs May through the end of September also ,seasonal tours are also offered--Ghost Tour in October, Christmas Lights Tour in December. For something more traditional try a horse drawn carriage ride, beginning in early June a narrated historical tour of the quaint downtown area is available weather permitting.


If you are looking for something fresh, every Saturday from the beginning of August until late October you can get fresh goods at the Cheyenne Farmers market. Wanting something out of the ordinary from a Cheyenne attraction, take a venture and see Nelson Museum of the West, it offers a collection of stories and old west memorabilia. A few miles out of the center of town are the Terry Bison Ranch. The Terry Bison ranch offers horseback rides, wagon tours, and prime rib dinners.


Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, This museum is famous for its exhibits on rodeos and the history of Wyoming. If you are feeling patriotic you can take a Cheyenne tour to visit the F.E Warren Air Force Base, Pershing at I-25. The museum offers shows on the history of Fort D.A. Russell up through the present FE Warren Air Force Base. It's also the home of the ICBM Missile Museum. When seeing all the attractions in Cheyenne Wyoming you are in for a surprise on every corner.  They city of Cheyenne is within driving distance of Casper, where travelers will find some great Casper Hotels and will also be close to Yellowstone National Park, one of Wyoming’s biggest attractions.
