Termas de Chillan

Termas de Chillan, much like Valle Nevado, has a relatively full infrastructure when compared to the other ski resorts in Chile and South America in general. Also helping to make this resort a popular vacation destination is its thermal spas. The hot spring waters that bubble up at Termas de Chillan offer therapeutic effects and are responsible for the resort's position as the top thermal spa destination on the continent. Enjoying some spa treatments after a few days on the slopes can certainly be a wonderful thing.

At the Termas de Chillan Ski Resort, skiers and snowboarders can get their fill and then some when hitting the slopes. Some 25,000 acres make up the total skiable area, and spread out over this area are 32 well-groomed runs, not to mention a couple terrain parks. When added together, the runs at the Termas de Chillan Ski Resort are approximately 30 miles long. The longest run measures an impressive eight miles on its own, thus making it the longest ski run in South America. Nine lifts are in place to get visitors where they want to go on the mountain, and if you wish to access untouched runs outside of the normal realms, it is possible to arrange helicopter trips into the surrounding mountains.

When you're not enjoying some downhill skiing or some snowboarding at during your Termas de Chillan winter visit, you might enjoy a cross-country skiing tour, a snowmobiling adventure, or a dog-sledding excursion. Visiting the thermal center is also likely to be an enticing proposition. Open year round, this soothing center offers a collection of pools that visitors can swim and soak in.

Tempting Lady Luck at the resort's casino is just one more way to keep busy on your Termas de Chillan escape. Among other things, the casino features 100 slots, a variety of table games, and a bingo room that can accommodate up to 120 people. It's all about fun and relaxation at the Termas de Chillan Ski Resort, and to help visitors maximize their time on the slopes, the resort features a competent ski and snowboard school to go with its other welcoming amenities and facilities.

Termas de Chillan is situated on the slopes of the Chillan Volcano at an elevation of approximately 5,250 feet above sea level. This location explains the thermal waters that the resort is largely known for. The closest city big city is Chillan, which is about 50 miles away, while the Chilean capital city of Santiago is approximately 300 miles away. When trying to get to the resort, many visitors fly from Santiago to Concepcion, and from there, they take a shuttle bus. Should you book a stay of more than three nights at one of the two Termas de Chillan hotels, shared transfers to and from the Concepcion Airport will be provided.

When trying to find a place to stay at the Termas de Chillan Ski Resort, visitors can choose from both hotel rooms and apartments. The Termas de Chillan hotels include the flagship Gran Hotel Termas and the Hotel Nevados de Chillan. The rooms are comfortable and nicely equipped at both of these hotels, and when guests aren't relaxing in their rooms, they can take advantage of the spa facilities, not to mention the savory restaurants and fun bars. Should you need added space or a full kitchen sounds good, you can pass on the Termas de Chillan hotels and book a condo or apartment.
