Ica Hotels

The Peruvian city of Ica is reeling from a powerful recent earthquake, so if you plan to visit here during your Peru vacation, you might want to check ahead of time to make sure that things are up and running smoothly. If you think you have found a few good options for Ica hotels, it is especially important that you verify with them the status of their operation before you show up on the doorstep. Ica tourism is boosted by the fact that the desert city offers some interesting tours, such as flights over the Nazca Lines, and the nearby Huacachina Oasis is a most welcome place to relax. The city’s Museo Regional is among the top museums in Peru, and the surrounding region is known for its wine and pisco grape production. The Ica Peru hotels provide visitors with a good selection of choices that should meet most budgets.

Ask some people what their choices for best Ica hotels are, and they are bound to start with the Hotel Las Dunas, which is pretty well-priced to boot. The rates here don’t run over $100, which is quite mind-boggling when you consider the oasis setting of the grounds, and the exceptional service provided. If you want to learn about the Nazca Lines, you can check out the hotel’s planetarium, which gives a good overview of them. The Hotel Las Dunas seems to have escaped major damage as a result of the earthquake, and the townspeople are eager to welcome visitors back to the city. You can enjoy a bunch of sporting activities through the hotel, from miniature golf and horseback riding, to sand boarding and tennis. The rooms here are a good size, and while not over the top, they are quite nicely decorated. Try one of the suites, and you can relax in your own jacuzzi. If you are here when it is warm, the hotel pools and lagoons are a joy to swim. The on-site gym, while modest, is nice, and the hotel restaurant serves up some nice dishes.

Another good recommendation for hotels in Ica Peru is the Hotel Mossone, which is found at the Huacachina Lagoon. Originally a 1920"s luxury resort hotel, the Mossone has undergone recent renovations that have upped its allure. The Mossone has a lovely courtyard, and its pool area is welcoming when the weather is warm. The relaxed feel here is among the best attributes, as is the restaurant veranda, where you can gaze out on the lagoon and let your worries drift away. There are around 40 rooms at the Hotel Mossone, all of which are well-furnished and feature televisions. If you are the kind of person that likes a hotel with a bunch of character, then you won’t likely be disappointed if you stay here, and among the nice little perks is the fact that they have free bicycles that guests can use.

There is no travel budget too tight for the Hostal Rocha, which is nice, but a tad worn. You really can’t beat the prices here, as you can get a double with a private bathroom for under $10. Seems hard to believe, but it really does cost that little to stay here. Some of the rooms here boast balconies, so if you are lucky or ask, you might get one. You can rent bicycles and sand boards at the Hostal Rocha, and you can expect the rooms to serve your basic needs. If you want to save your money for Peru tours or other pursuits and find yourself in Ica, the Hostal Rocha is simply the cheapest accommodation in Ica.

If you want to save money when choosing Ica accommodation options, you might bump up a bit from the Hostal Rocha and spend a bit more on the Hostal Belle Sand, which is just a few miles outside of town. Sand boarding and dune buggy riding are some of the activities you can pursue here, as the hotel is located at the base of a sand dune. Unlike what you might expect at a hostel, the Belle Sand has a nice outdoor pool, which even boasts a sun terrace, and the on-site cafeteria and bar are nice additions for sure. While this choice among Ica Peru hotels might be ideal for backpackers, it is also suitable for families and just about anyone else just looking for a good room at an excellent price. You get your own bathroom, and the hot water never seems to take a hiatus.

If you are a wine enthusiast and have chosen a Peru vacation over a that trip to Tuscany or the Napa Valley, then you might decide that the Ocucaje Sun and Wine Resort is the right choice for hotels in Ica Peru. Though the hotel is a bit out of town, it is a great place to relax. If you want some activities to enjoy, there’s tennis and volleyball, and you can arrange horseback riding, dune-buggy and bicycle excursions. Since the Ocucaje Resort is first and foremost a winery, you can imagine that trying some of their product is among the highlights. There are packages available that include your meals, as well as your wines. For that extra touch, your package might include a “Criollo” show, which is a joy for tourists. Rooms at this nice choice for unique Ica hotels go pretty cheap, all things considered, with the base rates still covering your breakfast. You can expect well-furnished rooms here, that are of nice size, though don’t expect anything too opulent. You can expect air-conditioning and television in your room, and the outdoor pool is ideal when the sun is hot. As far as Ica Peru hotels go, this one might be the one most frequented by Lima residents and other Peru locals.
