Upon its release in 2001 Shrek appeared to be another terrific kids movie born out of the gifted and innovative minds at Dreamworks. A world famous movie engrossing billions with an original and three sequels, the stage version could only be created and brought to life by a group of top professionals in the industry. Sure to be spectacular and engrossing, sets and costumes for Shrek Broadway musical will be constructive by Tim Hatley, known for winning a number of Tony awards for his incredible work. Also a Tony award winner, Hugh Vanstone will head up all the lighting for the stage. Well known director/producer Sam Mendes, who began his career as a producer for the Royal Shakespeare Company and is now a top Hollywood producer, will act as principal producer for the stage version of Shrek, along with Caro Newling.


One of the biggest questions fans are looking for answers to are who will play the lovable Shrek and the affable Donkey? With auditions still in the works, those questions are yet to be answered. There is no doubt that the quirky duo will be played by highly experienced stage actors who will bring well-deserved life and spirit to the characters and won't disappoint.
