Mundo Perdido

This vantage point is atop a platform located in Mundo Perdido. It is odd that this small part of Tikal was so distinct from other areas. Archaeologists, ethnohistorians, anthropologists, and many other researchers continue to flood this once massive city of 100,000 people, hoping to find clues about life here centuries ago.

There is still much more to learn and discover, and many of the structures have yet to be fully explored. Many secrets of the Maya still remain, vaulted in the stone monuments and shrouded in the jungles that surround them.
