Casino Games

Casino games have diversified immensely since the early days of casino gaming. Essentially there are three main types of casino games; electronic games, table games, and casino games such as Bingo and Keno. From a huge array of slot machines to table games like poker and roulette, there are casino games of all kinds to suit every gaming preference. With Las Vegas established as the Mecca of all gambling destinations, most casinos follow the leader offering Las-Vegas style games and entertainment, and you can now find most of these popular games in casinos from Bossier City, Louisiana, to Atlantic City to Kansas. Most casino games are simple once you learn them, but can take a little practice and explanation to get down at first. Many dealers will patiently explain the rules, but for absolute beginners look for a quiet table so that you will have ample time for a question and answer session. Hitting up casinos in the morning or early afternoon is almost always a good time to learn, and sometimes minimum bets are lower on table games as well during these times.

Electronic Games/Slot Machines

Slot machines, or electronic gaming machines, are for the serious gaming enthusiast, but are often the choice of recreational players. Video poker, blackjack, Pachinko, slot machines, and video lottery are common types of electronic machines. There are scores of different slot machines that range from penny slots to nickel and quarter machines to $5, $25, and right on up to multiple thousands of dollar slots for high rollers. The object of slots is to pull the lever and spin the symbols in hopes of a match. The best Las Vegas Casinos are virtually lit up by thousands of machines across massive casino floors.

Keno is one of the more unique casino games. It’s categorized as a lottery game. Twenty of a total of 80 numbers are selected through marked balls. Keno players have to take a guess, at one to each of the twenty digits, at which specific numbers will be part of the final draw. Keno is also available as an electronic game where players pit themselves against a computer in individual games.

From Texas Hold ‘Em to Caribbean Stud to Seven Card Stud, Omaha, and Pai Gow, poker is easily the leader in casino games with blackjack right on its tail. Players don’t play against the casino (unless you're sitting down for some video poker), but against other players which means thousands play professionally to win big. In each variation, rules for betting are usually the same as are hand rankings, but this doesn’t always apply. Modern poker includes a round of forced bets. The game continues to the left where a bet or fold is required. Fold or match the last bet. If matching, the bet can also be raised. The round of betting is over when each player has either matched the previous bet or folded. If each player but one folds, the last player wins and collects the bounty. If more than one player stays in the round, hands are revealed and the winner scores the pot.

Blackjack is one of those casino games that is easy to learn, but difficult to master. The object of blackjack is to aim for a combination of cards amounting as close to 21 as possible without going over. Face value applies to number cards, jacks, queens, and kings are worth 10 points, and aces are either marked at 11 or 1. Blackjack cards are popular, which are simply pocket sized cards to help beginners know when to take another card and when to stand.

There are no casino games quite like roulette. This popular game is based on a spinning wheel. The wheel is marked with numbers and a small ball comes into play. The object of roulette is to make a bet as to which number the ball will land on once the wheel stops. Those playing for less odds can bet on several numbers instead of one winner. While the odds are not very good, if the ball does land on your number, you can win big.

Baccarat dates way back to the fifteenth century where it was passed from Italy to France and then spread worldwide. Three variations of Baccarat exist, but it’s the North American version: Punta Banco, played in the casinos of Las Vegas and Atlantic City in private rooms and often with extremely high stakes. Baccarat is a stringent game of chance. Players are forced to move according to cards dealt. Simple and often stressful, results land in three categories: Banker, Player, or Tie. These are resulting options players can then bet on. In Las Vegas casinos, wagers on baccarat best are commonly in the tens and hundreds of thousands.

Craps involves the quintessential gambling move—rolling the dice. This complicated game involves the roller throwing two dice and then trying once more to roll the exact same numbers. There are several different bets that can be put on a roll. Generally the numbers 7 and 11 automatically win if they’re rolled. The numbers 2, 3, and 12 are usually the losers depending on the game. On a craps table are a number of types of bets, all with various odds.

One of the most popular casino games minus the stress that others can bring to the table, bingo players aim to match randomly chosen numbers to numbers on their own personal card. There is typically a free square in the center. The columns are represented by the letters that spell B-I-N-G-O on a five-by-give grid. The first to shout out “Bingo!” is verified as a winner and a new round ensues.
