All Good Music Festival

The All Good Music Festival has announced that they will be on hiatus in 2014 and hopefully be back in 2015. Check back for tickets then!

All Good Music Festival and Campout has been held every year in mid-July since 1997, and the All Good Music Festival 2023 is sure to continue the fun. It is a nearly weeklong music festival that primarily showcases jam and folk acts. In fact, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead (one of the inspirations for jam music) has been a frequent headliner.

All Good Music Festival Music

In recent years, the festival has expanded to embrace other genres, including reggae, bluegrass, funk, hip-hop, and more. The All Good lineup has included Widespread Panic, Darkstar Orchestra, Primus, and The String Cheese Incident. Because the tradition of the festival is jam music, taping is allowed and even encouraged. You must provide your own battery, power, and sound board.

All Good Music Festival Location

The All Good Music Festival has been held in Maryland and Virginia, but has been a West Virginia music festival more often than it has been held elsewhere. It has been located in Terra Alta (located close to the Maryland border) and Capon Bridge (located closed to the Virginia border) in West Virginia, and more often in Masontown, West Virginia (located about ten miles east of Morgantown). It has also been held in Spotsylvania, Virginia (located about fifteen miles south of Fredericksburg) and Brandywine, Maryland (located about fifteen miles southeast of Washington DC). Since major airports can be quite far away, transportation to the location is usually done by private vehicle, which can be your own vehicle or a rental car. Acquaint yourself with the location; for instance, the closet airport to the Masontown location is Pittsburgh, nearly 100 miles away.

All Good Music Festival Tickets

If you plan to attend the All Good Music Festival 2023 wherever it might be located, it's best that you begin your arrangements some months in advance. There are a number of ticket packages available, and the most desirable sell out months ahead of the festival. Because the locations have historically been in relatively remote countryside, requiring most attendees to camp, most ticket packages offered are three and four-day passes that generally include access to the camping areas. Four-day tickets provide access on the Thursday afternoon, and through the weekend.

All Good Music Festival Lodging

Since "Campout" is part of the name of this festival, one thing any location must have is a place suitable for a good 20,000 (or more) fans to camp for a few days. Historically, there have been few hotels within fifteen or so miles of the site. It has been a West Virginia music festival more often because of the excellent site of Marvin's Mountaintop, a 655-acre privately owned (by Marvin Huggins) farm on a mountaintop with wonderful views of the Allegheny Mountains. There are several categories of All Good Music Festival camping. There a separate site for families with children under age twelve, and a quiet camping area that is good for families with slightly older children. There is an area for tents and areas for recreational vehicles. You can even sleep in a non-camper vehicle (like the back of your station wagon or minivan) just be aware that vehicles like these are parked in an area where no tents are allowed.
