Hotels come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and you can find them in many great destinations around the world. This is reason enough to start considering that long overdue getaway, but it only gets better when you add in the fact that there are hotels to fit a wide range of budgets. The emergence of major hotel chains in the last century has a lot to do with the number of commercial lodging options, and it should be noted that many hotel chains offer special lodging memberships that can see repeat guests earning fantastic rewards.

When the budget allows, staying at a luxury hotel is arguably the way to go when traveling. Hotel chains such as St Regis and Ritz Carlton offer some of the world's most impressive hotels. As such, many discerning travelers start with them when trying to find their ideal accommodations. These certainly aren't the only luxury brands to consider when looking to indulge in a high-class escape, however. Four Seasons, Raffles, and JW Marriott are just some of the other upscale hotel brands that deserve recognition, and there are plenty of others that can also satisfy that need for a plush bed, multiple amenities, tantalizing facilities, and excellent service.

It isn't necessary to go with a 5 star hotel brand when looking to enjoy a considerable amount of comfort while out on the road. Hotel chains such as Best Western and Holiday Inn provide more than enough comfort for most in their rooms and suites. Hilton brand hotels such as Doubletree and Hilton Garden Inn also provide comfortable and well-equipped guest units, and there are other brands like them that fall somewhere in-between luxury and mid-scale. On the cheaper side of things are hotel brands such as Days Inn and Red Roof Inn. Budget travelers can also keep an eye out for motels, with the Super 8 chain being one of the best.

In recent years, a number of hotel chains have started offering lodging establishments that are known for their bold style. Take the chic and upscale W Hotels chain, for example, which is just one of many brands that is owned by the larger Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide company. This larger parent company, it should be noted, is among the largest hotel companies in the world and also oversees the aforementioned St Regis brand, not to mention such other remarkable brands a Le Meridien and Westin.

Marriott International is just one more company that oversees a number of different hotel chains, so you might add it to your list when trying to find a place to stay for your upcoming vacation. As for destinations that you might consider when it comes time to escape, the Caribbean is full of wonderful hotels, many of which are all-inclusive resorts that are offered by such renowned brands as Sandals and Breezes.

Europe and the United States are also home to numerous hotels, and variety is certainly the name of the game. On the other hand, an up-and-coming destination like Dubai can make an appealing place to escape to, especially since it boasts scores of hotels, or maybe you just want to visit the next city over. You certainly don't have to travel far to enjoy a rewarding getaway, and since hotels are available in such good number these days, finding a place to stay shouldn't be difficult regardless of where you plan on going.
