New Year’s parties ring out the old year all over the globe in grand fashion with massive parties, fireworks, confetti, and general excitement for the coming of the New Year. The holiday is celebrated in different ways depending on the city and country, but the rudiments of the celebration remain the same. Festive hats and sound makers, champagne, live music, dancing, great New Years pictures, countdowns to the final seconds of the year, all of these tend to be prevalent no matter where it is you have chosen to ring in the New Year 2016.
New Year's Parties
Although New Year’s Eve is celebrated around the world, the United States boasts some of the best New Years Eve parties anywhere to be found. You only need to flip on any television channel on this charmed evening to see the hugely popular Times Square celebration happening in New York City. Virtually every television station broadcasts live from Times Square and approximately 1 million people flood the confetti-laden streets every year to watch the Waterford crystal ball (which is now an energy efficient LED ball) drop to signal the beginning of the new year. The scene is one of general mayhem but also great excitement and anticipation of the New Year. Of all the New Year’s parties in the U.S., this one is the most well known and popular.
Los Angeles also has one of the best 2016 New Years Eve parties around. It is celebrated south of the city limits in San Juan Capistrano. Just like in New York City, there is a general atmosphere of celebration and many live bands play, including well-known national bands and DJs. It is a different kind of atmosphere than the downtown craziness of Times Square, but a wonderful atmosphere to ring in the New Year nonetheless. There is a less-constricted feel, and a more laid-back, West coast approach to the entire affair.
More popular New Year’s parties are celebrated all around the country in the bigger cities and metropolitan areas such as San Francisco, Chicago, New Orleans, Washington D.C., and many more. New Year’s parties on the Las Vegas Strip and in New Orleans are understandably crazy, all-night parties. These two cities are already generally well known for their partying atmospheres, and on the night when the New Year is rung in, the partying and wildness gets even more amplified. The Vegas Strip and all of the casinos provide an excellent (and bright) backdrop for a perfect evening of sipping champagne, planning for the New Year, and spending time with friends and family. It is also a great place to play black jack, drink on the casino tab, find amazing after-hours nightclubs to keep the party going, and a lot more. New Orleans invokes the spirit of Mardi Gras with its New Years Eve celebrations. If you have ever been to Mardi Gras, you have a general idea of what this holiday looks like as well. If this is your sort of scene then it will not be difficult to see why New Orleans easily throws one of the best New Years Eve Parties around.
The United States is not the only country that rings in the New Year in grand fashion either. Many different countries and cities around the globe celebrate in their own, culturally significant and unique ways. Tokyo, Milan, Mexico City, Rio, and Madrid, among others, all have brilliant celebrations as well. The celebration of the New Year is such a special time because, even though people from around the world celebrate the holiday in their own distinctive ways, it is a time when everyone can come together and look forward with optimism to the coming of a brand new year.
