Spring Break Ski Trips

Spring break ski trips are ideal for students who aren't quite ready to let the ski season go. A number of excellent Spring Break ski spots are out there, and you might be interested to know that package deals for some of the best ski resorts in the land are also available. As for the top spots for Spring Breakers who want to add skiing to the mix, they include the more renowned resorts that can be found out West and some of the best ski resorts that the East has to offer. The snow tends to linger longer into the spring season in these kinds of destinations, though more and more ski areas across the US are installing cutting edge snow-making to help extend their seasons through March at least, and many offer ski lessons and some ski equipment as well.

When planning Spring Break ski trips, there are some spots that deserve more consideration than others. This has a lot to do with the skiing and snowboarding possibilities, the lodging options, and the nightlife. A few of the best Spring Break ski spots are found in Colorado, where the skiing is about as good as it gets. At Crested Butte, there are lots of special events and activities that cater to people from the college crowd, and if you are a skilled skier or snowboarder, the backcountry begs to be explored.

You also can't go wrong taking Colorado Spring Break ski trips that are based in Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, and Winter Park. Aspen and Vail are among the more upscale resorts in the country, though deals on lodging and ski passes are often available if you are willing to look for them. As for Breckenridge, the fact that it boasts approximately 80 bars and restaurants helps to make it a good Spring Break destination, while Winter Park is known for its all around affordability. A slopeside condo in Winter Park, for example, is more affordable than you might think.

The Colorado resorts aren't the only resorts out West that can be ideal for Spring Break Ski Trips. Two others that deserve a nod are Jackson Hole and Heavenly. Jackson Hole, which can be found in Wyoming, boasts some of the most stunning scenery of any ski resort in the world, and after you attack the world-class runs, there will be tempting nightlife options to explore. As for Heavenly, it can be found on the California-Nevada border in beautiful Lake Tahoe. The views are also stunning at Heavenly, and as far as the nightlife is concerned, you can hit the bars, the clubs, or the casinos. Maybe you'll win enough at the casinos to pay for your trip!

Heading farther west and farther north, Canada's Whistler Blackcomb offers another prime destination for Spring Break ski trips. The drinking age is lower than it is in the US for starters, and the choices for apres-ski affairs are about as complete as can be. The West is full of excellent ski resorts that are a joy to visit at any time during the winter and spring seasons, though you might also want to keep some of the resorts on the other side of the country in mind as well. This is especially true if you don't live out West.

Moving to the eastern side of the country, some of the destinations that students will do well to keep in mind when searching for Spring Break ski spots are Killington, Mount Snow, and Mont Sutton. Both Killington and Mount Snow can be found in Vermont. At Killington, more than 100 bars, pubs, clubs, and restaurants offer options for things to do off the slopes, and the lodging options could hardly be any more complete. Over at Mount Snow, the terrain parks and pipes are reason enough to visit, and you'll also find that the lodging options essentially run the gamut. As for Mont Sutton, it can be found in Quebec and is just ten minutes from the US-Canada border. This resort is one of the best values in the East, making it one of the more enticing Spring Break ski spots for students who don't have a big budgets to work with.
