With two coasts, an endless array of beaches, and warmer weather than many other US destinations, the Sunshine State seems tailor-made for spring break. For many, spring break Florida means Panama City Beach. Its white-sand beaches along the Gulf Coast are perfectly pleasant any time of the year, but they're never more energetic than during spring break. Every year, nearly a half million college students leave their dorms and campuses behind and head for the sunny shores of the Florida Gulf Coast.
This long-time host of MTV Spring Break keeps the parties going during this season. Some of the largest clubs in America are located along the beaches here, many staying open until 4 a.m. Many of these parties welcome 18 to 20 year olds, making Panama City Beach a favorite spring break destination for younger college students. Several large condo complexes have been built in the last few years, and now it's easier than ever to find Florida spring break deals.
While Panama City Beach is always popular, it's not the only component of spring break Florida. Nearly any city with a beach draws attention, along with Orlando and its theme parks. The landlocked city draws families and college students alike to Disney World and Universal Studios.
Downtown Disney is a more sophisticated destination—a shopping and entertainment destination. Cirque du Soleil has a permanent home here, as are many pubs and restaurants. Universal has gained a lot of attention with the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. After dark, the Universal CityWalk transforms into an excellent place to experience Orlando's nightlife. You could catch a performance of the Blue Man Group, go for a stroll down the boardwalk, and even stop for a movie. Several restaurants and clubs are located close to the shops and attractions along the CityWalk.
From Orlando, it's less than an hour to the spring break fun at Daytona Beach. With 24 miles of beaches, there is plenty of room for a party by day or night. Daytona is usually less crowded than other Florida destinations, and it's also known as one more cost-effective destinations in the state. The condos often are cheaper than they are at other beach towns, and the available camping on the beach really makes a Datyona vacation one of the best Florida 2016 spring break deals.
Moving south, Miami's South Beach and the Florida Keys also host spring break revelers. South Beach is as chic as it is sunny, with excellent beaches and always busy clubs. Everyone gathers in Mallory Square to witness the sun set, continuing the party after dark. Sloppy Joe's Bar, the same place where Ernest Hemingway would throw back more than a few drinks. After a day and night of serving drinks, Sloppy Joe's moves the tables to the side, leaving plenty of room for dancing and partying.
