Trafalgar Tours is a travel company that allows its guests to get what it calls an "insider view." The goal is to provide travelers with an opportunity to visit destinations that aren’t always mentioned in guidebooks and to give them a chance to meet local people that they might not meet otherwise. It’s a wonderful concept that has helped Trafalgar Tours grow its operation and earn several awards over the course of many decades.

In 2012, Trafalgar Tours celebrated its 65th anniversary. The company, which is owned by The Travel Corporation, was founded by Bill Nunn in 1947 under the name of Industrial Recreational Services (IRS). The purpose of the original company was to organize group travel and entertainment. Among the tours that were offered in the early days were trips to London to see Harpo Marx at the London Palladium. Around the time that these trips were being offered, Industrial Recreational Services moved its offices to 139 Grand Buildings in London’s Trafalgar Square. In 1959, the name of the company was changed to Trafalgar. In the 1970s, the Tollman family joined the Trafalgar team. This family owns Trafalgar’s parent company, The Travel Corporation. Throughout its multi-decade run, Trafalgar Tours continually expanded its markets and overall scope, and today, it offers an impressive multitude of travel experiences that highlight a number of worldwide destinations.
Trafalgar Tours has head offices in numerous countries. These countries include the UK, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, China, and South Africa. This allows the company to maintain strong ties to the travel destinations that it focuses on within these countries. These aren’t the only countries that you can visit on a Trafalgar Tours trip, however. For example, in addition to the UK, the European trips allow guests to enjoy rewarding travel experiences in such other countries as Ireland, France, Italy, and Switzerland. Outside of Europe, such countries as Jordan, China, and Peru figure among the possible destinations. On average, the various Trafalgar trips have between 40 and 52 guests. Those who are more interested in enjoying independent touring experiences can consider booking a trip through one of The Travel Corporation’s other companies, as some of these affiliated operations offer such travel packages.

Types of Travel
Trafalgar Tours offers a number of different travel experiences. You can book a "First Class Europe & Britain" tour that features such things as luxury coach transportation and upscale accommodations, for example, or a "Family Experience" vacation that puts the focus on family-friendly experiences. "At Leisure" trips are just one more example, and among their main features are the opportunities that they allow for Trafalgar guests to enjoy ample free time and stay longer in certain destinations. Often times, special "Be My Guest" experiences can be added to the various Trafalgar trips. These experiences allow the traveler to enjoy rewarding dining experiences at working farms, family-run restaurants, wineries, and private homes. Another way that Trafalgar distinguishes itself among world travel companies is the relationships that it has with local experts. Book a trip that includes a stop in Liverpool, for example, and you can gain tremendous insight into the world’s most famous band through a Beatles expert. Regardless of your travel interests, Trafalgar can most likely help you arrange a vacation that will provide memories to last a lifetime.
