Asia Vacations

Asia vacations have long been popular among international tourists. Traveling to areas rich in history, ancient civilizations and architecture, and religions is an opportunity to experience diverse cultures, and planning trips to Asia is one of the best ways to do this. Travelers can choose among some of the best vacations in the world, including exciting cities that combine the old world with modern technology. Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore are popular choices for Asia vacations that combine the old with the new, but there are many, many options.

With the hosting of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, interest in traveling to China increased, and even though the games are long over, the interest has stayed. The historical attractions you can visit from the capital city are unmatched; among them are the Great Wall, built mostly in the seventh century BC, and Tiananmen Tower, built in 1417 during the Ming Dynasty. Travelers can also tour the royal gardens and temples in Beijing, shop and dine in Shanghai, observe giant pandas at the Beijing Zoo, or take a cruise down the Yangtze River.

Japan’s capital city of Tokyo offers vacationers many things to do, from participating in a traditional tea ceremony to enjoying the lively nightlife and seeing cherry blossoms. The cities of Osaka and Kyoto are filled with gardens, temples, and museums and numerous restaurants serving excellent local cuisine. While in Japan, you can hike in the forests or schedule a day trip by bus to Mt Fuji, among other things.

Singapore is a favorite Southeast Asian vacation location for fine dining, temples, and vintage architecture, and it’s home to several notable festivals, such as the Singapore Garden Festival, which features exquisite floral displays, fantasy gardens, and creative landscaping. The shopping in Singapore is also incredible, and Orchard Road is one of the world’s greatest shopping destinations.

A Southeast Asian vacation with several interesting locations for tourists is Vietnam. Visitors can explore the Mekong and Red River Delta, enjoy coastal beaches, hike through lush forests, or visit Hanoi, or Ho Chi Minh City, and experience the culture of the country.

Malaysia and its capital city of Kuala Lumpur are also popular destinations for Asia vacations. In Kuala Lumpur, travelers can visit the Cathedral or Batu Caves to observe large limestone formations, take a guided tour of the Royal Selangor fine pewter facility, peruse the markets at Bukit Bintang, or observe wildlife at Kuala Selangor. You can also travel to the Borneo rain forest, if you’re looking for interesting vacation ideas.

Another favorite spot for trips to Asia is Thailand, with its forests and mountains in the north and tropical areas in the south. In Bangkok, tour the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. Or head to Thailand’s largest island, Phuket, which is a vacationer’s paradise with its tropical climate, white-sand beaches, limestone cliffs, and an excellent location for swimming and diving. Thailand is popular because it’s a great place for both luxury vacations and cheap vacations, depending on how you want to spend your time, and its beach vacations are outstanding, offering both all-night parties and quiet seclusion.

The Philippines comprise more than 100 islands, which make the area a favorite destination location for beachcombing, swimming, boating, fishing, and scuba diving. The state-of-the-art Manila Ocean Park is the first oceanarium in the Philippines; it features numerous fish and marine species in a large, open-water habitat. This is one of the best places for family vacations in Asia.

Special vacation packages are also available for many trips to Asia with offers that cater to luxury packages, romantic getaways, resort specials, and sightseeing tours; there are even all inclusive vacations that include round-trip airfare, transfers, hotel accommodations, and meals. Whether you’re looking for a destination wedding spot, romantic getaways, or new options for your winter vacation, a Southeast Asian vacation might be the perfect choice.
