Cabin Rentals

Cabin rentals are something to consider, if you are the sort of person who actually wants to relax on your holidays, such as by spending a few days at rest without the stress of being constantly on the road and are looking for vacation rentals to avoid hotel stays. A week on the shores of a lake or among the trees in the mountains can do wonders to refresh your mind and body, especially with the convenience of a rustic cottage or cabin nearby.

Some of the most popular cottage rentals in North America are in the province of Ontario in Canada, in an area that has come to be known as cottage country. Situated in Central Ontario, about two hours north of Toronto, this area is centered on the district of Muskoka, Ontario. This area boasts 1,500 lakes, many of them small, making it the perfect intimate setting for cottage rentals. Imagine your own private cabin, nestled in the Muskoka woods, just a few feet from a small lake where you can go canoeing, swimming, fishing, or float around on an inflatable raft. Fry up your catch of lake trout in the kitchenette provided in your cabin, and fall asleep to the sound of frogs and crickets. This area is one of the best places to rent lake cabins, as the large summer break population means that modern conveniences are just at your fingertips. On the other hand, if you are on a winter vacation, you may find that few shops or restaurants will be open and many lakes frozen over.

Lake Tahoe is another popular destination in North America for cabin rentals. This alpine lake in California is one of the best year-round destinations in the US. In the winter, you can ski in the mountains while taking in a breathtaking view of the lake below. In the summer, hiking and camping are popular around the shores of the lake, and there are a variety of water sports you can do as well. The appeal of Lake Tahoe throughout the year makes it one of the best places to rent lake cabins. You can a ski vacation or hiking trip before heading back to your own rustic cabin in the woods or by the shore, or even a chalet near the ski slopes, where you can while away the evening hours by relaxing in a hot tub, or in front of a crackling fire.

National parks are another popular spot for cabin rentals, such as Yosemite National Park, also in California. The scenery at this famous park is just breathtaking and is immortalized in the iconic black and white photographs of Ansel Adams. There are several lodges and campsites located in the valley at the center of the park, but another way to enjoy the comforts of home along with the rustic outdoors is to take one of the cottage rentals in the park. Nestled in the forests of the valley, Yosemite cabins are secure and cozy, ranging from simple heated canvas cabins with cots, to more high-end cottages with comfortable beds.

If you’re looking for a scenic mountain spot that’s not as crowded as Yosemite or Lake Tahoe, one of the best places to rent lake cabins is at Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies. Located in the ski resort area of Banff, Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the world. Its turquoise waters are crystal clear, and travelers can canoe, kayak, and admire the view of the Rocky Mountains that surround the pristine lake. Staying in a cabin near Lake Louise allows you to enjoy the amazing scenery from early morning until night.
