Christmas Weddings

Christmas weddings can see you getting married at a local venue or tying the knot in some far flung destination. As you might expect, many northerners who are looking to get out of the cold decide to see what the Caribbean has to offer when it comes to getting married at Christmas time. Mexico with its all inclusive resorts is another popular place for destination weddings in the winter, and while it's not usually as warm in Vegas during the Christmas season, it too is not to be overlooked.

For couples who are in need of Christmas wedding ideas, the Caribbean is a good place to start. Caribbean destinations such as the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica are just some of the tantalizing options, and wherever you ultimately decide to go, having your ceremony on the beach will most likely be an option. All inclusive resorts are spread throughout the Caribbean, and they have long catered to the needs of couples and any other travelers who want to enjoy fun and relaxing vacations in paradise. Caribbean wedding packages are available at most, if not all the Caribbean all inclusive resorts, and everyone in the wedding party should have little trouble keeping busy on the side, as the things to do are plentiful. The Caribbean is certainly ideal for Christmas honeymoons, so if nothing else, you might escape to your island of choice after you tie the knot elsewhere, or roll your wedding and honeymoon into one vacation.

Thanks in part to the fact that it is home to beautiful beaches and alluring all inclusive resorts, Mexico is often a country that couples think of when planning Christmas weddings. Cancun is among the most popular Mexico beach vacation destinations, and as such, it is ideal for ceremonies on the beach. Acapulco and Cozumel are just two other destinations in Mexico that are worth considering if you are in need of Christmas wedding ideas, though as is true of Cancun, they are very busy during the Christmas season. As such, you'll want to arrange your Mexican wedding and/or honeymoon well in advance. Many large hotels and resorts either offer wedding planning services or can recommend one for you to ensure you meet all the legal requirements.

Should you be looking for Christmas wedding ideas that see you getting married in the US, Las Vegas boasts plenty of great casino hotels that can accommodate your needs. Most of the top-rated casino hotels along the Vegas Strip offer wedding packages that include most everything that you will need, including a cozy room or suite. Perhaps your package will include a couples session at a spa or a romantic candlelit meal for two. Wedding planners work with the best Vegas casino hotels, and should you be interested, they can do more than help you arrange your ceremony and reception. Maybe you want to plan a bachelor or bachelorette party as well or organize a rehearsal dinner. Christmas can be an excellent time to visit Las Vegas—the decor in the hotels can be lovely, especially at the Bellagio where the botanical gardens take on the holiday spirit, and there are often not as many visitors to Vegas around Christmas as there are during other popular holidays.

These are among the most popular destinations when it comes to Christmas weddings, though you are encouraged to expand your horizons. A ski resort wedding around Christmastime has its merits, for example, as does a ski resort honeymoon. At world-class resorts such as Whistler Blackcomb and Vail, there are numerous venue options, and you could hardly ask for a better backdrop for your wedding pictures. The mountain vistas are absolutely breathtaking.
