Use the Acapulco map above to get details on the location of the beaches and famous attractions such as La Quebrada, and check out the links to the left for tips on hotels, flights, and other logistics. For suggestions on other things to do on Mexico's Pacific coast, see the Puerto Vallarta map or the Mazatlan map.

Acapulco was the original Mexican beach resort — the Hollywood of the Pacific in the 1950s and 60s when John Wayne, Errol Flynn, and Frank Sinatra built villas above the bay. The cliff divers of La Quebrada have been jumping 135 feet into a rocky inlet since 1934 and have missed exactly zero times. The bay itself is one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the Americas.
